Off-Road/Safari FX35

Insanegunner what's up man I hope these guys didn't discourage you!

Every time one of these threads come up they've been shut down, haha. I can see why. These are all valid points.

I'm actually super interested in a safari FX35 as well. Granted, I know the limits of our cars! We won't be able to do any rock crawling but hill climbs? Doubt that's a problem if it's not super steep.

I've toyed with the idea of getting a steel plate front bumper lol, that would be very unnecessary but looks badass.

I would put a roof top tent, why not? Bushwhacker fender flares? Hell yeah.

I was thinking earlier today actually about how versatile air suspension would be for this type of application.. how much lift can you get on air systems? That way you can lift when you need ground clearance and lower when you want handling.

Let her rip.

I like your wheel set up. What's the rim size & offset? What tires did you fit on?

I agree that most setups have been for the urban lifestyles but I'm in Texas and there is a lot of demand for off-road vehicles. Since I do a lot of mountain biking and trail riding, this set up will allow me to get into some, more remote areas, the lift will also help with towing. And since I'm looking into getting me a boat, it all kinda works out in my favor. This is my wife's FX but we loved it so much that I decided to keep it and get her a newer one. Besides, luxury off-road is the new fab. I don't expect everybody to accept, but I did notice some members truly interested in the concept in other threads. But thank you for the input RipnFX, I really appreciate it. BTW, that one pic of the roof rack kinda looks like yours RipnFX is it?

I have also seen a lot of off-roadring YouTube videos on FX's and I am happy with the performance aspect of the FX for that. And with the AWD feature in my model, I think I am on the right path for my needs and not have to buy a different vehicle.all I gotta do is mod-it.

I am going to be putting on 30+50mm lift . I to watched some videos like extreme off road . I will be trying some smaller wheel diameter with some itsa tires from Romania I will post some pics maybe a video or two. I'm also going to be putting a offroad subaru bumper rally mud flaps!! I have taken my fx in the snow and I was so impressed for what it is.

Not sure if if I said the name of the tire correct but one of these styles should give my FX a real head turning agressive stance the supplier is in romania and for $800-1200 for a set of tires that almost no one in the states has on any vehicle. ? I'm going for it ilI' post some pics when I get started so you can decide for yourself ....als a the best lift components seem to be from a few places in russia lol they offroad anything

any reason you didn't mount the snowboard attachment on the OEM cross bars? I love the pic, my car looks like this entire winter usually. Last year and a year before that I made 8-10 trips to the mountains each year and the FX handled it like a freaking tank!!!

Decided to start by least dollar amount on lifting....strut spacers from rising sun on eBay he is making some changes and building for me right now . Week maybe two at most and I will be swapping some suspension components along with strut spacers the guestsmation for height is close to (4") 3.7"4rear 3.5"front still not sure of the exact tire size just a bump in width 285/50r20's or upward of 315/55/20?? My concern is that 4wheel independent can have dead in the water accident/flaws so I may just start with smaller of the tires to see what the stress levels are

You can feel free to do what you like, but just like the other dozen people I have seen before you, chances are once you have the hard costs in front of you, you will decide to abandon all ideas of pursuing this. We're not saying what you want is impossible, anything is possible, but are you willing to spend 10, 20 or 30 thousand dollars buying shocks, struts, and fabricating an entirely new suspension design for this car?

And no; You will not fit 33's underneath the FX without some serious work.

This is the equivalent of buying a dress shoe, and then trying to modify it into a running shoe. You should have just bought a running shoe from the beginning.

I've been quite busy of late. Meme 405 said
35's on my fx without major fab work I believe I can.! I can drive around with 285/55r20's as is .....so new goal!! Fx45 with only eBay purchased items and under a grand!?!..... Challenge accepted also as a bonus I'll take pictures and videos but I will raise the bar with an exhaust headers install.

Id love to see a lifed fx, saw a lifted 350z and it looks sweet so why not the fx
I to saw a lifted car first.... 04 G35 with some huge 10-15" fender flares and a skid plate that seems to run for the flood lights about hood level and stopped just s
I'm thinking the fx is a luxury awd sports suv not a off road vehicle. Just cause it's awd doesn't make it suited for off road. A wrx is an awd off road rally vehicle but you wouldn't drive a gtr the same way. For less than a couple grand you can drive an older ford explorer or a cherokee or a 4 runner. Why the FX? To each his own but it's not suited for that. Go to you tube and you'll see videos of guys trying to use the fx off road, just not a good vehicle for that. No one has done it for a reason. If you decide to do it please post pics as i'm sure some guys would like to see what you did. Funny. most guys here are trying to lower it and you're wanting to raise it. I'm sure some guy out there thought about raising a lambo too

The lack of performance off road is do to the fact that it's built to be large low slunged muscle car wrapped leather and curves They literally wanted to prove that a large v-8 powered do everything suv could be swift, explosive, agile, 100% crossed over SCUV . With some of my passion leaking out my apologies. There is almost no suspension flex/travel Wich makes it like off roading a cinder block with leather seats !! If you want to get more off road performance you just have to look at what makes this FAT-HATCH piss off sporty cars and motorcycle rider's enjoy the fact that they have to try and keep up with me. I am starting my lifting adventure the first of August when my headers from always fun eBay arrive I will post pictures and hopefully inspire the believer's and change the minds of the non believer's!!! I love to challenge myself and pioneer a possible masterpiece of my own wish me luck.

And there is always some good finds if you dig hard enough you'll find all manufacturers have components that can be interchangeable just look at the specs and most vehicles are inspired by or shared design features saves you money and the endless answers..... We don't make anything for the vehicle..... Infiniti G35/G37 Q56 Nissan Altima and Rogue Titan and Armada

Did you get the new tires and a lift? Looking to do something like that to my FX35 too, need some directions.

Hey Elusive - sorry if I'm doing this wrong, first time on here - how big are those tires? Did you lift the car at all or is everything else stock?

Looking at putting "SPACCERS" on mine - https://www.spaccer.com/en_US/home/ and doing like a 34" tire...idk

Hi, I thought I might as well weigh in since I have started this process already. Sorry I don't have any installation tutorials but I have an 03 fx35 and I just lifted if with 40mm blocks and rear spring spacers as well.

I ordered 17" motegi mr139s and I'm just waiting on my a/t tires to arrive. I can send pics if anyone wants. Hope I can help with any of your guys builds ☺️

P.s. here's some info on Moto's fx that everyone saw on offroadium.
