New Wheels - Dropstars DS41

Hey guys, just wanted some feedback. New to the forums, and a novice when it comes to car mods.
Just wanted to do some minor upgrades in the near future. Your feedback would be appreciated!

Got these rims for free as a gift =) (sorry newbie to forum, cant post url yet)

Thanks guys

Also, here's a pic of the wheels:

Is there a thread going for 2nd gen 22" wheels for specs, tires, etc? need some feedback on what kind of tires to get. want to make it look a bit lowered without having to put coil overs on.

If you go with allot of lip the fender gap will be more pronounced you will want to do a drop with those wheels.

Lipped wheels aren't really in anymore like they used to be...everyone is going for spokes that stretch throughout the face of the wheels, and concave..Check out some of the Vossen VVS-CV1's, or Vertini has a nice selection of concave wheels.

Yea well i got them for free and they're a step up from stock so im not going to complain about it, lol.
If some professionals can recommend some good tire sizes it would be appreciated. looking to fill in the wheel well as much as possible without mods and rub. Thanks

Can do 285-40-22. It'll give you the height to fill in the gap a bit. Will have a little bit of a bubble/bulge look to the tire.

Ive been shopping around for tires and tirerack.com says the only fitment would be 265/40/22 for my car otherwise I will run into rubbing issues. Is this true?

Can I get away with 285/40/22? What about a 45/22? How will it look on a 22x8.5 wheel?

people seem to be recommending the Yokohama Parada Spec-X. Any other suggestions?

lastly, what do I need to do to make the wheels sit flush with the fender? Sorry, im kind of new at this.

Finally got them installed! Let me know what you guys think. Sorry for poor photo. Taken with phone

got a question, after getting the install, my steering wheel vibrates left/right when im between 60-75mph. I know that I was going to sacrifice some ride quality going with larger wheels, but this seems a bit drastic. Is that due to poor tire balancing job? slow speed or speeds past 80mph it smooths out. How do I get it to stablize?

yes poor balancing. Bigger rims are harder to balance. If around 21, make sure you have someone very very skilled at doing them and might even need a road balance for 24s to make them perfect, but from what you are describing they can be much better.

I took it for balancing and had the same issue but very slight...then took it again and told them to give me their best balance guy and now it's like a kitten at every mph. Some people are definitely better at doing it than others even though they all use the same machine.
