(there's the throttle body I was talking about)

okay... so all i ask:

what will get me the "throw you back into your seat" explosion takeoff acceleration that i'm looking for?
I haven't felt the same torque I had from day 1 of owning the FX. Even the S/Cer didn't give me that initial slam me back in the seat like stock really did. Everything, according to my butt dyno, would just start rocketing the thing forward after 3k
I haven't found it yet.

Edit: sry :embarrassed: just giving you my honest opinion on the experience I've had with spending lotsa moneys on NA before giving up

We'll if your not looking to spend the $$ on the Forced Induction then nothing. Cuz all the other things....its only gonna get you minimal gains. Nothing that will "throw your back into the seat". But like I said on your post on the Org. I personally felt the most out of the plenum spacer.:bur2:

in the infinitifx.org forums, peiople had mixed answers for my questions, the most important being:

DOES THE INTAKE INCREASE OR HURT THE POWER?
HOW CAN I INCREASE POWER THE EASIEST?

Buddy, we've spent 3 pages, 55 posts (7-8 of them just from me) with answers to your questions.. For the stuff you can't understand, here are the answers:
- You want big power off the line? Get supercharger or turbo
- You don't want to spend that much?
1) Get a good intake. Nobody recommended you Injen, by the way.. From the beginning people have said Stillen or JWT. It turns out, you'll probably lose power with Injen so you better return it for something good.
2) Get plenum spacer. I've told you to get 1/2" but 5/16" also works
3) Get a crank pulley

I personally told you these and brand and every other stuff.. Please don't blame other people for YOUR shortcomings..

And for the Scene regulars: It's known that people say "search first" even before saying "welcome" in the .org but before placing the same fault on me (or anyone on that post), please read:
http://infinitifx.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17328

I'm just annoyed that all of my and others' efforts are taken as "mixed answers"...

why r u acting so hostile? the point of joining the forums is to ask questions, share knowledge, etc.
plus, the INJEN one is on the stillen site. so i figured it was similar. also, on stillen, if you search for forced induction half the stuff is INJEN products. so.......idk ( are yu sure i'm not just buying a brand name?)

so the global decision is a plenum spacer and forced induction?

what do you recomend for the forced induction, oh wise one?

Okay man, I've tried my best but my answers are apparently never good enough :frown:

I recommend the Stillen supercharger for you. Read up on the different FI options in the FI forum please.

The purpose of these car forums is to share information, but at the same time, we have most of this information already available upon search request. The reason some are getting a little irate is because we try so hard not to be the "SEARCH N00B!!!" type of guys :err:

Good luck. Please read up. :iS:

When I think of INJEN I think of Honda Civic. They're designed with Autozone in mind. Stillen intake + a Z-tube seems to be a torquier option from what I remember reading.

And a Stillen box + a cold air intake from say... LMS... looked like the best one of any of the FX35 intakes I've ever seen. I really really liked that setup, but I'm going FI again so I'm not gonna waste the money on puttin my LMS SRI into the Stillen box.

IMO it looks the best and LOOKS to be the most performance-goaled setup available.

thank you. by the way, the "oh wise one" was not directed towards you because, you've actually helped me more in 5 answers than the other guy has in liek 10 (edgefx)

OKAY SO THIS IS THE DECISION: EITHER SUPER/TURBO CHARGED ORRRRRRR STILLEN INTAKE W/Z-TUBE. (and spacers)

thanks for your help guys

p.s. 1/2 inch or the smaller for the spacer?

Turbo is gonna put you way over your budget and your stock internals won't like the torque.

Supercharger is what you're looking for.

Stillen box + intake is not gonna do what you want it to do.

Please don't resort to mocking, it'd be appreciated :err: I understand the frustration when you're new to this stuff, but it's just completely unnecessary to say the least and it sets a bad atmosphere for future questions of yours (ie nobody wanting to help next time around).

i dont think there is a "global decision" for every mod. thinking about a plenum spacer and F/I are in 2 completely different ball parks.

What do you want out of your modding? are you modding your FX for fun, 1/4 mile times, auto crossing, or just for having some fun on the roads?

how much money do you want to spend? a plenum spacer costs around $300, F/I will cost you at least $4,000...think about how much you want to spend and then go from there.

if you are looking for your best bang for buck...a 5/16" or 1/2" plenum spacer is a great addition, a z-tube with either a cone filter (stillen, jwt) or a better drop in filter (k&n). a crank pulley is a cost effective mod and i have personally felt good gains from it. test pipes really free up your exhaust but make things louder and your exhaust will smell more....

most mods have many points to them, e.g. test pipes. a lot cheaper than high flow cats and they provide very good gains for n/a and f/i. although they are not smog legal, make the exhaust louder, and there is more smell. think about what you want and you can see which mods are right for you.

btw..i would ditch the injen if you haven't gotten it already because it has been dyno proven to LOSE power. (this is all on the .org, just do some searching). most reputable companies provide mods that give good gains.

yeah im plannign on not getting it installed, cuz i havent yet. pretty ymuch i want a tad bit more takeoff accel. for fun on the road, so im lloking to spend like maybe the 300 for the stillen intake and z-tube, and the 300 or whatever for the spacer, so thats 600ish

hopefully, thse will make my car aliitle more fun to drive, and hopefully add a tad bit more accel. (do they?)

(basically the answer types im looking for are "get blah blah itll make your accel. faster". however im not gonna go with f/i---too much $$$$ so im thinking more mionor mods--like the intake,z-tube, and spacer...and thats it prolly)

basically the answer types im looking for are "get blah blah itll make your accel. faster".
That's why you weren't getting anywhere. Don't have that state of mind, people prefer you do the research. It's not even research really, it's just a matter of finding OUR research and trial+error type of things. You say you want a direct "get this, it'll make your GO-PEDAL more effective," but at the same time you really started digging into the what-does-it-do's by asking the "will it throw you back in your seat" which is almost identical to "will it add low end torque?"

okay then....

i decided to get the stillen z-tube intake kit and the motordyne 1/2" spacer, then im gonna ECU flash on the dyno----then i think i'm done. hopefully i get what im looking for, and if not---back tot he forum!!!

thansk for your help guys

you've actually helped me more in 5 answers than the other guy has in liek 10 (edgefx)

You'd get your answers if you've known how to read, understand and ask questions..

-Best bang for the buck are the Motordyne spacer + intake (stillen, JWT or K&N drop in)..
-Get either LMS z tube or 350z tube or Stillen z tube if you go the drop in filter way..
-You can get a Y-pipe to open up the exhaust a bit. It's rare but there's one on ebay. Search for kakumei and fx35.

That was my first reply, mind you.. Anyways, I'm out of this discussion.. Good luck modding... Peace..
