new rollers on order

I have mine reprogrammed @ West Covina Nissan and they charged me like $70 I think.....

Probably cheaper to remove the old set off the stock wheels then to get new ones re-programed at the dealer. But you should call a few dealers and ask pricing.

shops around here charge $120 to mount/balance. Dealers charge $120/hr. Luckily, Costco charges $40 to mount/balance and will do stuff they don't sell. I think I'll take the wheels and tires by and have them mount them up, then load up the stock wheels and tires and wait for the TPMS to come in and take everything back to mount when they do.

2x$40 = less than a dealer charges to reprogram (assuming they'd charge 1hr here).

Do you have to reprogram the TPMS if you dont have one on your FX? Sorry I'm a bit confused, I replaced my wheels twice (from stock 18's to stock 20's to the Ordens) and I didn't go back to the dealer to get it reprogrammed. I was told by a friend of mine (he's a tech @ Nissan) that you I didn't have to do that coz once you put it back on and you start driving it would automatically do it.

if you reuse the same sensors that are already programmed to your fx then yeah, it'll pick them up & still work, but new or different sensors then no, it'll need to be reprogrammed...

Do you know what the reprogram process is? I might need that done with a set of sensors not born on my ride, & I dont really want the dealership tinkering with my ECU.

As far as I know Dave, only the dealer can do the reprogramming for the TPMS. But I don't know the process involved. Will may know better since he had his done not too long ago.

But can they reset specifically just the TPMS with the Consult without doing a full ECU reset?

Dunno Bud - are you afraid of losing your TS flash???? The dealer wont even know the TS flash is there unless you tell them so. You might want to ask Doc about his TS flash & Dealership encounter. But they wont know....and you wont lose it thats whats freaking ya out. At least to my knowledge with speaking to Doc.

My dealer is aware of my mods, & they're actually cool with the reflash, so I guess I'll just inquire with them. Was just curious, cuz I dont want any mistakes made.
thx

The dealer can't do anything to the ecu reflash. Most don't even have the proper tools to do a reflash. The only ways they can tell if the ecu was tampered with is due to the screws being removed and if they try and scan or adjust specific parameters in the reflash timing.

So don't worry Dave you should not have any problems.

The consult is fully capable of a full ecu reset. Just curious if they can only reset tpms. Like I said, the sa's at samo know about my ts reflash. They don't write it up cuz they're very cool with me. I can just inquire when the time comes . . Maybe even this week. Hint, they're slightly larger than track 19's :)

back on topic....which Nissan TPMS will work? I see type 1 and type 2 out there. My wheel guy isn't helping me with the TPMS even though he said it we be included in my order last week. I can't get the new wheels mounted until I get the modules.

I actually have a set on my table - they are Nissan TPMS. Not sure if you were asking what model number: 40700-CD001

They're made by Schrader Bridgeport and are OEM Nissan Genuine Parts. Hope that helps.

will those work for the FX? I found two types on ebay...that was one model #, then there was a second.

I have a FX and posted the FX model number. Even Napa spells Infiniti wrong=)
