New FX50 owner, signing on...

First post! Picked up my black/charcoal (is that what they call the leather color?) FX50 Sport last weekend. Immediately took it in to get the front windows tinted; I opted for the 50% conservative level because my previous car kept attracting Fix-It tickets and warnings from our friends at the LAPD. Decided not to test this time around.

This thing is simply a monster, it pulls harder than anything I have ever owned. And it looks completely evil; the gnarled-looking grill is just pure chaos. I'm hooked.

Looks like this board has more activity than some of the other Infiniti-esque ones I have frequented over the years, especially from LA folks. So I'll stick around and check it out. :6wink:

Love the car and welcome to the site. I dream of having an FX50 someday...:top:

LOL! Thanks guys. And yeah, my wife has a black car & washing it each weekend is always on my 'honey-do' list. The only swirls her car has come from times when she became too lazy & went through one of those car washes with the spinning brushes.

But when black cars are clean, and (basically) swirl and nick free... IMO there's no better color. Although I saw an FX50 on that lot that was a dark blue color, I probably would have hit that one up if I had not been patient enough to order exactly what I wanted . . .

I'm a lil jealous, but congrats! And welcome!

I think black (no offense) hides some of the more hideous areas of the new design... but mean it sho' is. I'll test drive one sometime soon and see what kind of monster you're talkin about!

checkout the stuff we use to keep our rides clean. i know a few others and myself can get away without wash for months. mine via klasse, no rinse "wash," and duster. more on the detailing section.

Welcome to :iS:.

i test drove the FX50 at a launch party here in Los Angeles, and it IS a Speed Monster.:top:

Great Purchase

Actually no offense taken. I own one and I'll be the first to say that the black gaping maw grill looks pretty bad on the lighter color FX's. Because the grill is black (even on some of the lighter cars? why?), with the lighter color FXs it stands out too much and looks -really- awkward. I think the the blue, the black, and the brownish colors are the best with the new grill.

I am still a bit confused by the decision to use a different finish on the side vents compared to the rest of the exterior trim, on the 2009 FX35's. They look tacked-on. On the FX50, The vents are the same polished chrome finish as the rest of the exterior trim, so they blend a lot better.

Ha ha, and this is feedback coming from someone who purchased the new model! I can only imagine what the average joe thinks. It draws stares, though, which is one of the reasons I brought it; so I'm good

welcome to :iS: yeah, a lot of us are from the SoCal area... and we have meets all the time... so stay tune, it'd be cool if you could show up

Many congrats! Sweet ride. You definitely got the right color.

I agree. The black hides a lot of the ugliness and is certainly the color to go with on the MY09 imho. And you can't beat that engine = awesome!

Interestingly enough, the way I found this board was because someone posted pics from a previous meet (in Torrance I think) on another board, and one of the links pointed back here.

I'm totally down for a meet... If you all don't mind hanging with an "Ole' G". I'm in my early 30s, seems like a lot of peeps here talk about being 18, 19 (with brand new FX's! I'm jealous!)... Ya'll are completely blessed, I couldn't have afforded even half of this car back then! Good job.

I'm 38... :dontknow:

Hey, whats going on? Congrats on your new FX. Us FX owners come in all ages. hahahahaha

Welcome to the scene again.

post some pics of your FX when you get a chance. 29 here

Nice and welcome

fwiw, yours is the look I'm ultimately going for. The blacked-out wheels, the whole thing is just superblack. Black w/ black wheels or blue w/ blue wheels, both have an imposing presence and I was on the fence between the 2 colors (as mentioned earlier). Nice.
