NEW FX35 Mods???

For one regarding the fuel economy... Im comming from a supercharged lifted f150 that currently gets 7mpg becuase of the 37" tires and crap installed. 18.1 mgp for me is GREAT on this vehicle lol. Regarding the gears,.... i cant believe you just asked that. IT CAN NEVER BE TOO FAST.!!! But on a serious note, the gears changed my power band becuase it puts the rev right around 2.7k which is where this car makes power. Get what im saying?

Haha yes you will be happy with that differences in mpg

What i ment about the gears was when you rev up very fast and have short gears it'll make your shifting very short as well. I kinda had the idea that you can not pull your car more true it's rpm's that way. Maybe i don't say it correctly. i mean like a rally car very short shifting.....very nervous......and how about your final gear rpm's...?? Will these be higher at top speed as well...??

I know what you mean at low end power band.

The final drive swap is a worthwhile mod if faster acceleration is the goal. Boosted or not its a great mod.

The final drive is essentially a gear multiplier. It's a change that will always be present no matter what gear you're in no matter what rpm you're at. With a centrifugal supercharger the boost is rpm dependent. 6psi is at x000rpm. The faster you get into boost the faster boost will carry you through the rpm band.

Ok Clear.....:top:

why exactly are they called test pipes? i never understood it.

They call it test pipes because you will be testing your luck with the law once you get caught not to mention your health for breathing in all that crap that will flow into your cabin ;)

Why is that ege...?? For the same reason as off the breaking / cracking...??

P.s: I've pm'd you on the .org check it out :top:

I believe in Berk's quality and the flex on the Y-pipe should help it out. My concern is the sound.. My fx is loud already with headers, CAI and exhaust. Don't know if I should make it louder for an additional 5-10 hp.. I'll probably sell it (or return it) since it's new, never mounted.

Got your pm. Just got back to US and started working at the new job and also moved to a new apt at the same time. Don't have time during the week and probably can't come to NY to take care of the apt. Will see though..

edit: Sat sept 8th? Now that might be good.. nevermind the above comment..

Raymond,

I am trying to decide on a SUV to buy and I am interested in the FX. I saw your avatar and was wondering if you have any more pics?

California tracks are also not the greatest to gauge performance. From elevation, to wind conditions, to temps we don't get many breaks when we go to the tracks.[/QUOTE]

I have to say, CA tracks are better than most. The elevation is never more than ~500 ft and the humidity is always low. What track are you racing? Try pushing 12.5 psi through a PD blower @ a density altitude of 2K ft in the midwest in the summer...now that's tough.
We're lucky here on the West coast...

Autoclub speedway in fontana is the only 1/4 track left in socal. Elevation is 1100 ft. Oregon and Washington have a few tracks with better elevations. Carlsbad and palmdale have been gone for a while, carlsbad was great elevation but the track was crumbling, palmdale was horrible elevation but was open at nights and allowed for lots of runs.

Fontana is only open for public racing a few times a year, and 80% of the time it was so packed 4-5 runs through a day and the conditions were hardly ever ideal.

Norcal has a few that seem better than socal.
