nav tv help

pro's: you will have an input that will allow you to play video on your front main screen. it could be video from a rear dvd player, a ipod video or what ever source you happen to add with video. it does this by intercepting the rgb from the nav.

con's: you have to pay for it & you have to have it installed

I think the second one is the popular one that most have done... don't know much more than that... I'm guessing they both should be ok, I would check with johnmax at the org, he's done a bunch of these & probably has the most experience with them...

thanks for the reply Turbocad, I was reading the post over there and it seems he recommends the ones from ebay, but I also read the better ones are all solid state and some are not. Any one here have a nav-tv? do you use a remote to switch or a toggle switch?:ooh:

I have the NAV/TV mod and mine uses a toggle switch. I cant recommend you which one to use since I got mine done professionally, I'll try and look for the receipt and see which one they used.

I'm pretty sure I have the first one but I also had mine professionally done and I have a toggle switch which is the usual route.

I know the units cost between $225-$250 for the 2 input 1 out, or the 4 input 1 out for ~$550. Thats the price from the manufactures, the price may be different from a shop (parts plus labor). From what avelectronics told me, that unit can be install w/o removing dash lcd, all part/ wiring from below passenger seat.

Get those H&Rs installed if not already, you'll love them.

anyone tried or heard of this unit? Seems like a better price than the Avelectronics module.

do you have that one? It always looked kinda " cheap" in the pics.

yup.. It's definitely not like the pics. It feels like a solid unit but didn't have a chance to install it yet. JohnMax at the org installs & recommends these all the time so it shouldn't be bad.. The whole thing is plug&play and the harness part is not bare wires as well. It's covered with a bright red casing.. I can take some pics when I'm home if you'd like

dave you posted this in the wrong thread lol , but it looks good, except the center caps are going to have the infiniti emblem chrome, and later on a red pinstripe around it, thanks dave, lets move this to is wheel studio shall we??
