My Turn for the Akebono BBK

Good to know the part numbers of the knuckles, i was lost already.
I still trying to contact the guy with this Akebono brakes but he is not responding on the mail.....
Hope he's not selling them without telling me anything...

Guys,

I need a second opinion.
After getting in contact with Conceptzperformance the told me that this kit is a direct fit for a 2003 Infiniti FX35. (see link below)
I wrote back for them if they are really sure, as i know now that the Akebono kit from a FX50S or G37S will fit on the front but not at the back.
But they said i don't need brackets or whatever and can directly fit these calipers on my car......
I doubt it to be honest, OR this is a custom made set from Infiniti to retrofit it to the 1st gen FX....but i doubt that as well.

What you guys think about this?
I rather pay the price and go for all new with stoptech drilled/slotted rotors...if this is a direct fit.

Edit: OR the link below or maybe they mean the kit for a '03 G35? Is this the same?

True, but maybe somehow to made a kit, or this guy on the mail doesn't know where he is talking about.
Most likely the last.....but i will wait for his answer.

Believe me he doesn't know what he is talking about. He probably thinks that is for a second gen or something.

He absolutely doesn't know what he's talking about. On 1st gen G35 and 350Z's, they work fine with the supplied brackets. But even then it's not a direct bolt on. The rears are definitely not a direct bolt on. Probably hopes that since you're in Europe, you'll buy it, realize it doesn't fit, then decide it's not worth the time/expense to return.

I'll probably end up with a stoptech kit.
The Akebono set i found for sale all of a sudden has been sold.
After trying to contact this moron for almost a week and then get an answer that they have been sold already.
So, guess i'll end up the pricey way hehe.

@WietseFX35, If you're just looking for front calipers, there is a member on here selling some Akebono's for cheap. Worth asking if he will ship internationally. I shipped a 100lb item before to Europe and the cheapest way was though our postal service, USPS. It cost me like 150 to ship. Calipers are no where near that so shipping shouldn't be too expensive.

otherwise if you're looking for front and rear set up, try AP racing calipers.

I would like to go for a front and rear kit, but looking at the prices of these AP Racing callipers....:bulgy-eyes:
Here in Holland i know a company selling Stoptech, i will ask for a quote there and see what they come up with.
I will get home in 2 weeks and there are some Ferodo DS2500 pads waiting for me, i will change the damaged hard pipe, get the front rotors checked for warping and machine them straight if required and install with the new brake pads.
See if that will keep it going for a while.
This guy here who had a complete Akebono kit for sale emailed me he sold it already....while i am emailing him and waiting for a reply.
Usefull guy....c*unt.

I the meanwhile i will wait and see when my Invidia exhaust will arrive and be happy with that for a start :smile (2):

One MOD at the time :good:

I got a reply from conceptzperformance, they apologised and agreed that i need a FX50 knuckle upgrade for the rear.
They could also get that shipped together with the BBK, altogether incl shipping to the Netherlands will end up around 2600 dollar.
Not bad price for all new callipers, stop tech drilled/slotted rotor.
But they still looking for a cheaper solution for the knuckles which might take a few more months to get it finished so i'll wait and see what they will come up with.
As far as i know it was never tried by anyone, but is there no space for a bracket to fit the rear calliper?

Off-topic, anyone on here recommend a good metal prepping agent? I just had my Akebono's blasted and read that if they don't get prepped after blasting, they will oxidize and rust. I read around that someone's calipers rusted after being primed and painted when he blasted the calipers. Don't need this happening after spending this time and money to get tthem installed.
