My baby got hit

That sucks!
The quarter looks repairable, as does the bumper & trim. Should be able to fix that at shop for under 1K.

PEOPLE SUCK SO MUCH!

I agree; I’ve had this happen to me before a couple of times. Also have had a hit in the rear. Not fun! That’s why I always let the auto insurance company take care of it; We pay a fortune for comprehensive, no fault on premium vehicle. Get your money’s. Your rates shouldn’t go up much if you’ve only one claim in two years. Rates don’t go up on no-fault claims (depending on your policy/coverage.

You should file a police report though, as with a police report case number, your insurance company can request police follow up with the video, and they will go after the person responsible. They are very good and in doing; depending on your insurance provider, of course. Also you’d get your deductible back of the person responsible is identified and has auto insurance.

Don’t try to pull one over on the insurance company; they always find out! The person on an earlier post two years ago had the right idea; some insurance companies will just draft you a check; ask them. However some require you take it to an approved body repair shop because they want to pay directly and utilize refurbished parts.

I would be upfront and honest from the get-go. Karma is a bitch!!

Thanks for the response Jon, my only concern and this is why i don't want to go through insurance is that few years ago got a DWI and got a reduced sentence but still is on my record. To this day, my insurance company never found out and i just got a statement in the mail saying they renewed my policy and it actually went down!!

I don't want to bring up any attention to me with state farm because if i they investigate and look up my record i feel like they may drop me and then i'm really screwed!

So i'm basically torn on what i should do, but i think i will make a police report to cover my ass and have them look at the cameras.

sucks to hear bro. but definitely looks repairable, don't need to replace. my wheels been asking where you are

I understand; you have to do what you're most comfortable with. I'm with State Farm as well, and I, too, thought they'd jack up my rates recently when my '05 FX35 was totalled on April 2nd (w/injuries of which I'm still in physical therapy trying to avoid surgery for a torn meniscus and TCL), when I'd just had a claim two weeks prior upon hitting a large pothole that tore off the gravel shield, cracked the oil pan, ruined the oil seals, etc., - so yeah, I feel your pain.

I was amazed to learn from my State Farm agent the pothole incident was considered "no fault" and didn't imipact my premium. The company doesn't go in arrears to "catcha" either, so I think you're in the clear (especially if you've been a longtime, loyal customer - in my case, since 1999), but it's your decision. Do whatever you're most comfortable with.

I don't feel the quarter panel needs replacing; it can be repaired, adjusted and repainted. But, keep in mind, if you have all-around sensors, one or more could have been damaged as well. Lots of times, all damage can't been seen on these newer vehciles from an inexperienced, naked eye - especially with the fancy electronics of late. The impact alone could've damaged the senors, you wouldn't know. I think you'd do best discussing with your local State Farm sales agent, then to an approved dealer. However, I do know from experience State Farm wants to settle your claim asap, for as little as possible. They will offer you a payout (check) with estimates (at least three) you provide if you choose to get repaired on your own. If you go to one of their preferred repair facilities, then the payment will go directly to them; not you.

Also, don't forget to ask for $$$ for "depreciated value", but only IF the person responsbile is found and their auto insurance charged; as well as your deductible reimbursed.

So much to follow-up on, I know, but it's so worth it to get the coverage that YOU have paid for by having comprehensive auto insurance coverage, and State Farm is considered one of the best in paying out claims, btw.

Haha trust me, i really want those wheels but people need to stop destroying my car first lol.

I spoke with the manager at the gym yesterday, she's going to look into the cameras for me. From the view of the camera outside i think i have a good shot in finding out the car that hit me.
