mirrors

I don't think those would look good on the FX. I remember seeing the CF caps somewhere tho.. I'll look if I find it I'll post the link.

Real CF mirrors look good on any car! (well maybe not quite "any"...) Especially black or dark greys and silvers imho. I think they would look pretty awesome on an obsidian FX.

Here are some CF mirrors sported by other SUVs and crossovers:

CF mirrors would make the installation of LED's a bit harder dont you think? This thread, although titled very vaguely, was to discuss installing signals in mirror....

but yes CF is nice if you have a certain theme going....but if not done correctly, can make a car look very cheap...

No, it's just entitled "Mirrors" on my screen. And was about installing different mirrors to the FX.

And I agree about LEDs and CF. Why would anyone do that?

Nah, after giving it more thought, you guys are right. They would look shit. I'll just go and buy some 22" wheels instead.

anyone have pics of the back of the mirror glass? i want to pop my glass out, but am worried about breaking the attachment points. was hoping to get a look at how it goes on before i try to remove mine.

A. Time to remove the mirror from the housing. Be careful use a pry tool and work it from the bottom (upside down)and the mirror will come forward about 1/8 so that you can see inside. From this angle you can see the tabs where it clips on and you can pop them open and the bottom (which is the top) is hinged and it comes right off.

I forgot about this last night, I'll try to get a shot to you guys in a few hours... just remember when it is very cold things tend to crack much easier, our mirrors aren't so bad but some cars I wouldn't attempt popping mirror glass in & out when it's frozen, if you can warm it up it's safer, especially on the reinstalling end, you can warm up the glass inside & then pop it on while still warm too.. I'll get a shot soon to show how it releases

any pics??

Also, I finally received a tracking number and apparently the covers will ship via EMS, so they are either coming from China or Taiwan, just as I suspected. I don't understand why the seller wasn't honest about it from the beginning.

I totally agree. If it's from taiwan, then you are in better luck than from china. Taiwan products are made in higher quality than from china in general.

Well I guess turbocad's mirrors are the way to go.!!!! Plus we all know that he it's a perfectionist so them mirrors would look amazing.
