hey just saw a m45(1st gen), i was wondering if i can put those side mirrors on my fx or the last Q45 have them to.....i love the signals on the mirrors, have to buy a new one anyway...cliped it on the way to court:frown:......thx

For the install was it easy? I believe there was a write up for it somewhere on this forum.

I would like to do this mod and also try to get a pear of sport tail light set.

those look kinda mickey mouse....i was looking for a more factory look...thx anyway:frown:
I don't get the Mickey Mouse part... what about it resembles Mickey Mouse? They're the exact same as your stock lights except with holes in 'em for the light lenses to tap into your turn signals...

I do get the mickey mouse comment, I don't like the way those look either, def don't look factory & I wanted something that does look factory. I winded up fiting a S550 signal light to the fx mirror & it works out well. I have a pdf around somewhere for a template for this cut if you wanted to attempt this, the cutting is tedious on an already painted cover, but as you see it can be done. for a perfect fit I would do the cuts & finish the opening to perfect & then paint the cover, but even cutting an existing cover like this isn't bad results:

YouTube- Infiniti FX custom LED mirror covers

no, that's aiya's fx

half the work is on the covers themselves, the other half of the work is on the mirrors on the car. when I did that white one it took a few hours of screwing around with it to get it to sit right, that's after the covers were already done & the lights mounted to them... it's not straight foward at all really. honestly I don't have the time to produce these for others right now.... I'm pretty backed up with side work & I'm starting to work on my fx performance stuff, I've got several things going on & no time really, when I do get time to do another of these I promised gto dave the next set... after that well see, but again, even if I did the covers for you there is still some modification needed on the mirrors themselves...

Nice Job as always John .. Can you change the amber color to a different one?

not impossible to change the color of the led's, but not practical either. the light is a sealed unit. it would have to be cut open, swap out the leds & then welded back shut... a lot of work.... what would you change them too anyway? I think amber is the only thing that'll look right really. when I do mine I will tint the lights so they look black & blend in with the mirror better, but leave them amber. also, all the leds in this light are the same except for the last one that faces backwards, that one is super bright because it is the only one seen from approaching from behind, which is really where these lights make the most saftey improvement to begin with.

Shrug, I like them. They look OEM to me. Great safety feature, as they are really bright.

i like both styles. for the total work involved, i think that the ones from the GB are the best. about 3 hours or so from start to finish.

john's look waaaaaaay smoother, but, altering the housing and cutting the cover scares the hell out of me.

yup, I have the ones from ebay and I get a lot of compliments on them. Everyone always think that they are oem.

I'm also a little iffy about doing big projects like that myself.
