its a newer version of the other ones....what do you guys think? the more i think about it, the more bummed I am that our cars did not come with this standard....

someones gotta check them out, if there a nice light with good covers then it's a good price for sure, wording is a bit funny in his add, don't think there original covers, just the oe covers alone cost more than his auction... hard to tell from the pictures if there nice or not...
 
how difficult was it to run the wiring? I've done wiring like this before on fender sidemarkers but have never ran wiring into the door...is there a way to tap into the signal indicator via fuse box? or did you guys run wiring into the bay and tap the actual headlight signal wiring?

I'd be more than happy to setup the GB if anyone else is interested....looks like they have 10 sets in stock...added: crap looks like they are in Berkeley CA and since im in CA, they might charge me sales tax...so maybe someone outside of CA should arrange this?

I took mine to an electrical shop. He took my door moldings off, ran the wire through the door all the way to my head lights and wired to my turn signal bulbs.
 
The relay for the turn signals should be behind the dead pedal. I believe that's where mine are wired.
 
i just got a response from the seller:

So it looks like no-go from a GB standpoint and any additional discounts.
 
I would seriously say before buying mutiples of these someone gets one & checks them out, to me the picture on the black fx, the light looks skewed & not right, looks crooked & not a good fit, that is def not my mirror in that shot. the tiny picture looks more like the mirrors I did for aiya.... a lot like the picture of aiya's really... too much like it, to the point that that may actually be aiya's mirror :err: wouldn't be the first time someone stole a picture to sell something on ebay, might also explin why it's so friggin tiny... if these mirrors were really all that, then why not a good large picture of them to see details...

as far as running the wires, there is NO REASON to even think about running the wires out to the front lights... you can get these wires in the cabin. the real problem is running the wire from the door to the cabin... nissan uses a bulk head plug for the whole door. you can not run extra wires through this easy at all... the ones I have seen wired usually drill a new hole in the door & the pillar to run this new wire through...

I'm not going to share my opinion of that method here, because I may be too anal at times & what might be acceptable to many might not be acceptable to me, I have never actually installed mine because I have never had the time to really do mine while keeping the wiring in the existing bulk head plug... it's not easy or practical, but not impossible either, just haven't done it yet. now I'm leaning more towards drilling & running another boot with an aux harness to the doors to feed these mirrors & also the door speakers for when I do my system... I guess at that point I will accept drilling as it is the only practical way to do this... the wiring is a pain if you ned to keep this flawless....

at the cost these are, I'm very leary of them being high quality...

doc, missed this. the oe covers alone are $72-$90 each depending on color... just noticed these do come in color though from infiniti, didn't realize that till now...
 
the covers do not come with lights though... nissan never offered a light like this in the fx... mine mates an fx cover with an S550 benz signal light.. that $72-$90 is just one plain cover...

I just picked up a pair of 09 maxima mirrors, they use a slim light in them, just picked up a pair to play with, but the S550 lights are such a perfect fit visualy that even if the 09 max ones could work, the benz ones just match so much nicer...
 
anythings possible, but nothing much to retrofit for that on our mirrors, could be done as a custom job, you would need to scrape the mirror glass from behind for little circles in the pattern of an arrow & then place leds behind it... don't sound like fun... I don't like the arrows on the glass personally, so no chance of me ever doing that...

then there are little cheapo stick on arrows with very fine tape on wire from ebay to get that look, looks cheap though...

Oh wait, really??? I thought the newer FX's (06-08 and the 09's) came with the turn signal side mirrors. LOL, I just kind of assumed this then, hahaha....my bad John.

Are you doing the rear view side lights for anyone? Of course, I would pay you. But I was reading your post, and I'm not so sure if you do that for people. I'm dying to do that on my car but I don't know where to go in my area....dude, what you did looks siiiiccckkkkk....

not now, I'm backed up in a few projects, headlights & paddle shifters & I got a few projects I need to do on my car by spring, not gonna take on much else for a while. to do these I would either need to buy new covers & lights & put them togeather or have to have your original covers sent to me & loose them for over a week. if your still interested after like feb check with me :smile:
