Member's other Modded rides

Looking good brad, if you need.help let me know I'm always down for helping a fellow FXer.

Awww man you did it now. Friggin hot out there! Yeah, I could use some help. I'm planning a install day with like six or eight guys. Plan will be to knock out the whole list in like three hours, then drink beer and hang out/cool off in the pool. Maybe we'll fire up the grill. It will probably be in September. August weekends are booked up!

Hell yea! Coilss and LSD ftmfw!

Almost a year of ownership on the stock suspension. Been on the track with my Miata and she did great, save a clicking CV joint on the right rear side.

About the only thing I'd like the ability to play with (i.e. adjust to my personal taste after having tried it out) is the ride height and the dampening. To that end, I have been looking for adjustable coilovers for quite a few months. I got BC's on my FX and loved them. Made in the same factory are Megan's and this afternoon, my new suspension arrived. Can't wait to start on the install.

Adjustable dampening is the bees knees, IMHO. Everybody feels things differently and there is just no substitute for being able to dial in comfort for the street. Adjusting the suspension to full stiffness for my 3 to 5 track days per year is as easy as turning a knob.

I also have a 1996 Torsen LSD & axles cleaned up and ready for install - pulled from a yard.

The rear axle CV boots, clamps, collar and bearings will be cleaned up and reassembled with fresh grease, new boots and clamps. The knuckle, hub & dust shield in the photo are going into the spares pile. I'd love to get started, but Houston Coffee and Cars is first thing in the morning and I'm taking the Miata for the first time.

It is direct bolt in. No modifications. That's why its such a kick ass swap. The only modification I have to do is a battery relocate to the rear to mount the secondary air valve which I wanted to do anyway for better weight distribution lol.

Friggin hot out there!

Just came back from a 7 day vacation in Houston. Man, I fell in love with the place. I saw a good number of FX on the road though none had IS decals on them.

BTW, I love the overall driving decorum of the folks over there. I have never heard a single horn blown and most drivers are road courteous. Will definitely visit again in the future.

SWAP IS COMING SOOOOONNNN! really soon. Pullin the motor on Sunday. One of my buddies is putting a whole new motor And trans in his 96 m3. Soo. He's hooking me up big time. I'm getting his 150k s52 that has a dinan'ed tuned ecu, full exhaust (sounds ungodly), after market clutch, UUC evo3, DSSR, 3.5 inch maf. I'm gonna be doing a m50 manifold on it. Compression test showed 205 for all 6 cylinders, it has had the whole cooling system done about 15k ago. This engine runs like brand new and pulls super hard. Has EVERYTHING needed for a swap, cluster, wiring harness (it's obdII, same year as my 96). I have my upgraded 255 fuel pump in, m3 drive shaft, poly motor mounts, silicone radiator hoses, and my battery relocate kit. All of this for... 1800! And install from my buddy is... 500! Go Alec. Im so stoked. This **** gonna haul! If anyone is interested I have a perfectly running 96 m44 with everything needed for a swap for $800 lol. So around 260-275 hp and I weigh in around 2550-2600. Can't wait !

I Like. Now I look forward to installed pics. Toys are great!

Thanks. It'll be next month as I am ordering all the other components to go along with it this weekend. New front and rear strut mounts, Rogue rear shock mounts, spring perches for coilovers, and front and rear strut tower reinforcement plates. I am debating on the camber plates, but I'm not going too low plus not doing more than one trackday a month, so they may not be worth it.

Sigh...lots o cash for something I was going to mildly mod hahahahaha.

Dang Riaz that looks good, you should go to brads place when he does the coilover install on his miata. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Oh, I see you're from NY. That explains it.

It's funny, because I said the exact opposite when I went to NYC. I was just like wow people love their horn here. Light turns green and if you're not moving right then honkkkkkkk.

in NY every ones in a rush & everyone is in everyone else's way. then there are the morons who drive really slow & really get in the way too... in NY you either move or just get out of the way, otherwise your just another rolling roadblock  there is no peaceful traveling in NY, your either aggressive or your just in the way :)

Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

That's a great idea, but my install is going to be fairly detailed. I think it would be best to be home just incase it goes from one day into the other due to unexpected items needing to be purchased from the dealer or unexpected problems.

I am down to hang out though:wink (2):
