Well I got my dad in the mood for a fun car on the side and he loves jags...we has a 99 XJR and we're thinking about getting another.....[/quote]

it would look ILLL on coils/bags with a nce set of BBS:tup:
here's one we're looking at:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detai...f1Nm=price&sf2Nm=miles&rpp=50&feedSegId=28705

same exact thing we had before...
I need to do some research on J-complete japan and see what they used to slam their jags...http://www.j-complete.com/Gallerynew2.html
They also offer lip kits and spoilers and even ECU tuning kits..... (questionable)
http://www.j-complete.com/Gallerynaganotanaka.html

http://speedhunters.com/archive/2009/06/12/random-snap-gt-gt-j-complete-jag.aspx

maybe do a little stanced/VIP style.... while having 400hp and being able to rip burnouts and donuts haha......

I think I may know what I want to do:tup: "1998 Jaguar XJR 5.2 13.7"

http://www.dragtimes.com/Jaguar-XJR-Timeslip-20678.html
http://www.dragtimes.com/Jaguar-XJR-Timeslip-14076.html

So this company "Eurotoys" is one of the only aftermarket performance avail for them.... a different SC pulley, some exhaust work, some tuning, maybe some coilovers (need to be custom fitted I think) nice set of BBS..... nice 12-13 second luxury sedan....... for around 15k after some mods...

let's see what happens..... this is just an idea for now (you guys know how I get)
when's the last time you saw a slammed classic body jag XJR?

I am partial to something older like the XJ or a vert like the XK, but anything R IS cool. My dad has an old 79 Merc 450SLC, which I actually love (although he should have bought the SL instead). Oh and that ad in your search for the XKE, that has to be a typo on asking price...

Jumbo, do those timing gears just run exposed like that or do they have a clear cover?

The Integra I just sold has those exposed timing gears (in that case it was just a missing upper half of the timing belt cover) with no clear cover. I've seen it many times before and never heard of any issues...

Similar to the 2jz.

OK
I remember seeing the clear cover on a Z. Seemed similar.
Just seeing the cam gears reminds me on the whirl sound from a timing gear on a muscle car. hmmmm, happy thought.

Yeah it must be plus I got no response anyway haha....

We've had a 3 Xj8s 1 XJR since I've been around but my dad had them back in the day and has always liked them...I just like the classic style of the XJs. PLus, if we get lucky like last time, there won't be much wrong with it besides a loose SC pulley!
I think it may be fun...still need to talk to the man in charge.

My parents are hesitant to let me buy a 240sx because when my uncle was younger he had one that he totaled going 15 mph and they are convinced its not a safe car at all....I was trying to tell them its a project and not supposed to be safe! haha

; just found one of the exact porsche's I was looking for within the price range...http://www.cars.com/go/search/detai...kId=20081&rpp=50&feedSegId=28705&aff=national

I like jags, they exude a level of sophistication. All that real wood and leather. Only Jag guys I've ever known has been mechanically inclined engineers or attorneys, with some mehcanics thrown in for good measure. The XJS with an engine converion (usually chevy V8) used to be popular when I was but a tiny tyke.

That 911 you found is killer. I am a P-car man at heart. I really wouldn't do much to that other than restore it. Then again you can get pretty crazy mod wise for that 911. An old friend had a 993 (google Princeton Wong Porsche to see what he did with his).

Personally (because I am biased) there isn't anything better than the 911 out there. Nothing, but there are some other cool cars that might take some digging to uncover, case in point...

Exactly my point..I love the 964 bodies but do not want to spend 30k for a 20+year old car...even if it was 100k new!

I'm talking with the man in charge about the porsche but he is partial towards jags so idk.... For that 911 we would just restore it and not do much to it... but then the bug may take over!!!!!:wink (2): I just wish it was black!!!

This is another car worth considering. The whole family can enjoy it given the top down aspect (assuming everyone can drive stick). It can cruise, feel at home next to the exotics at the coffee and cars meets, be a trackstar, a drift car, or just hooliganing about the boulevard (note this is just an example...although this one is SC'd, there are many for sale at varying prices stock to modded with low miles to 200K miles)...

Although I had an M coupe last time (which is rare and will become a collectible), this time I am opting to go M Roady myself.
At least that's the plan for the next addition.

Yeah, those are pretty nice. But the only way to get my dad in on something is if its a "classic", you knoww hat I mean?
Those mroadsters/coupes are pretty nice with a nice set of wheels....

J-Bake: if you want real Porsche fun and lasting value of your investment, I suggest getting a turbo. They will always be more desirable ans if you buy the right one at the right time, you can't lose on the value.
I'll post pics of my 930 when I get the chance.

You guys have some good taste! A lot of nice cars / projects. Maybe one of these days when I get a proper garage I can get started on a TRUE project car, like a Silvia or an older muscle car.

For now, I have to "settle" on modding my daily drivers...
