H&R lowering spring

my fx has 62k and was thinking of getting the H&Rs lowering springs ONLY and keep the original stock struts, but my installer recommends i get the entire kit... also, i live in NY and winter can be crazy, how will this affect driving conditions in the snow?

new front and rear shocks are about ~$250 (less than $300)... you will save money if you get it done all at the same time.
