Lowering Kits

the 2 choices for lowering springs are H&R & eibach's, both are in this price range really. main difference is thought to be, the eibachs's are slightly lower drop than the H&R's, but stiffer & less comfortable ride.

cant go wrong with the Eibach if you're getting a good deal on them. But a bunch of people that had the Eibach a long time ago switched over to the H&R when they came out and haven't regretted it. Either way you should be fine!!

I really think you could go with either and wouldn't be unhappy. I've always thought that if you drive an FX in the first place, that the Eibach's shouldn't be too stiff, and the H&R's should give enough sportiness to go with the comfort. Has anyone ever not liked one and switched to the other? I would be surprised, unless it was a special circumstance.

I've seen one guy run the eibachs a year or 2 maybe, then switch out to the h&r's & said he was happy & wish he switched long ago, said handling was a bit less, but the ride was so much better it was worth it. forgot who but it was someone here I think...

Nice.., i totally had plans on keeping my car stock but lately i've been thinking about suspension upgrade. I've always modded my cars but was thinking this would be the first car a left alone. So here we go based on the above, i think I'm gonna lean towards the Eibachs, i like the stiffer ride. I've ran Eibachs and H&R's in the past and H&R's were always definitley softer. I actually kinda regreted the H&R's i put on my last Bimmer and they were the Stiffer sport springs. This really sucks because now i'm missing the bump in my system and the stock Bose just dosen't seem adequate enough... damn this was supposed to be my work car???

hahahahha. I spoke the same words. I was at a light in Hollywood with 3 other DG FXs when I decided the dark side was calling.

no body runs Intrax ??? i was reading the guide ...
well im really interested on the intrax since it would drop 1.8" .....but is hard to find right guys ? im not sure at all since i just got my fx not too long ago

you should be able to do the rears yourself, only need to remove one bolt once the wheels are off. i did the rears, paid a shop to do the fronts, saved at least $300.

One more question. What I'm reading here is that by installing a lowering kit, which appears to be a new set of springs only (as in know other mods), I will lower my ride, get better handling, and a better ride all at the same time. If I go with the H&R, the ride will be better than stock?

depends... most guys that go to H&R's claim that the ride is actually better, but also a bit more stiff on the bigger hits. also, the later fx's are thought to be a bit more comfortable stock, than the earlier ones.

overall, lowering does not kill the ride like in many other cases on many other cars, all fx's should be lowered, there are really no drawbacks & the obvious benifits...
