bump, & also an update
as I've said before, I initially did just the fronts because the rears were delayed for me. there was a huge improvement with the fronts & I was happy with them, really improved the harshness & dulled the hits from a bang to a boomp.
now honestly I didn't think doing the rears would be as dramatic of a difference, but then again I'm used to cars that are significantly heavier on the nose than the rear too, where the fx is approx 50/50 weight distribution, but anyway, I didn't think the rears would be as huge of an improvement.
well, yesterday I finally had my rears done. drove it home & as expected, the rears were much smoother... driving over bumps went from boomp-bang to boomp-boomp... fine, guess I expected that.
on my way home, there is one exit ramp from the van wyke to the whitestone expressway that has a big "step" in the road, where new pavement meets the old & the new is maybe 3 inches higher than the old, feels like a 12" drop though at speed... NYC highways just suck like that. anyway, I usually hit this dip at speed & I usually have a bunch of crap in the rear of my fx, a crate with some tools, misc parts & stuff. when I hit this dip everything in the fx actually jumps up a few inches & then comes crashing down, including my ass in my seat, I usually get bounced out of my seat quite a bit with enough speed, almost hitting my head on the headliner type stuff. it almost is like a Pogo stick on that dip with enough speed.
sooo, yesterday I hit that same dip at a good speed & guess what, NO JUMP! it almost felt like I emptied the rear of my fx, or like they actually fixed that dip, which they did not of course. my ass stayed firmly planted in the seat, nothing in the back came crashing down, just a big boomp boomp...
I am so happy with these struts that I really just want to share this with you guys & can't stress enough how much of an improvement new dampeners actually are on a car with almost 70k miles on it. sorry if I sound like a salesman, but I benefit in no way from anyone buying these, just really want to make it clear how dramatic a difference these things can be to a worn suspension

if you've got some good mileage on your fx & your sensitive to ride quality then these are without a doubt the best few hundred you'll ever spend on your fx...
