Sorry for the delay on this, Joe is checking with his vendors to see if he can find us a deal. If not we will just stick with the 10%.

bump, & also an update

as I've said before, I initially did just the fronts because the rears were delayed for me. there was a huge improvement with the fronts & I was happy with them, really improved the harshness & dulled the hits from a bang to a boomp.

now honestly I didn't think doing the rears would be as dramatic of a difference, but then again I'm used to cars that are significantly heavier on the nose than the rear too, where the fx is approx 50/50 weight distribution, but anyway, I didn't think the rears would be as huge of an improvement.

well, yesterday I finally had my rears done. drove it home & as expected, the rears were much smoother... driving over bumps went from boomp-bang to boomp-boomp... fine, guess I expected that.

on my way home, there is one exit ramp from the van wyke to the whitestone expressway that has a big "step" in the road, where new pavement meets the old & the new is maybe 3 inches higher than the old, feels like a 12" drop though at speed... NYC highways just suck like that. anyway, I usually hit this dip at speed & I usually have a bunch of crap in the rear of my fx, a crate with some tools, misc parts & stuff. when I hit this dip everything in the fx actually jumps up a few inches & then comes crashing down, including my ass in my seat, I usually get bounced out of my seat quite a bit with enough speed, almost hitting my head on the headliner type stuff. it almost is like a Pogo stick on that dip with enough speed.

sooo, yesterday I hit that same dip at a good speed & guess what, NO JUMP! it almost felt like I emptied the rear of my fx, or like they actually fixed that dip, which they did not of course. my ass stayed firmly planted in the seat, nothing in the back came crashing down, just a big boomp boomp...

I am so happy with these struts that I really just want to share this with you guys & can't stress enough how much of an improvement new dampeners actually are on a car with almost 70k miles on it. sorry if I sound like a salesman, but I benefit in no way from anyone buying these, just really want to make it clear how dramatic a difference these things can be to a worn suspension  if you've got some good mileage on your fx & your sensitive to ride quality then these are without a doubt the best few hundred you'll ever spend on your fx...

Thanks for the review, now we just need to wait for Joe to find us a vendor.. :frown: I contacted him a couple days ago and he said he is still looking.

turbocad6, even if you were selling stuff, everyone knows your a great guy (both technically and professionally :top:) peeps here would buy from you.

your old struts and shocks must have been really dead, glad you dont hit your head on the headliner anymore lol. Also happy KYB are making replacements for our cars. (now all the other manufactures should get a hint)

Good update as always.

ok, so tonight I decided I was going to hit that particular dip pretty fast to see if I bounced up at all, well I got distracted with mp3 browsing & before I realized it, I thought about the dip & then I realized, I was already past it. I didn't even notice & believe me, before, no matter how slow I would hit it, it was extremely noticable to say the least

I hit a gas station entrance fast & I drove it a bit aggresively here & there & really got a feel of it and you know what, it's like a whole different car! rides awesome. before if I hit that gas station driveway really fast on that angle my upper body would throw right then left, but now, it feels like I'm driving someone elses car & it just feels so good. just fronts was a big improvement but all 4 complete it, the ride is just sooo much better than it was before, I was very leary about considering 22's before cause I figured it'd ride really really hard, but now it's so nice of a ride that it'll still ride great with 22's for sure.

last word I'll say on these, if your over 50K miles, you NEED these!!! ok, I'll shut up about them now:biggrin:

:4tongue: Ok, you can stop teasing us now...:frown: If Joe doesn't get back soon I might just end up using the 10% discount coupon..

So quick question the kyb's which website is it because they have a few and how would you apply the IS discount, I gotta get these I got 22's on 35 series tires and if I can get the ride better that would be nice (65000) 03 fx45 red.

John, you can volunteer to be an iS vendor

yeah, you must really want all of my other projects to take even longer huh?

the price is low enough, skip a lunch or 2 & that's the difference between what it is now & the absolute lowest it could ever possibly be. were really lucky with the fx now that these are released, some cars are just so screwed when it comes to replacing struts. I was going to buy an 01 s class, had higher mileage & although it rode ok, kinda like how my fx was, I knew it really needed struts to ride the way it should ride, it's almost a $4k ordeal on that car, others are crazy too, my caddy dts needed over 2K to replace the existing electronic or $600 to just put deville struts. some lexus, audi's & other cars could only wish they could replace all 4 struts for under $300, guess that's just how I looked at it  I paid ~$280 or so, $50 less than that is a really good price I think...

Do you guys want to wait for Joe or do you just want me to throw out the discount code? With the 10% off you will be saving like $25 dollars, still a good deal

LOL, John...hahahaha. No no keep up to date on your OTHER more pressing projects :wink:.

Jeff, you can throw the coupon out there for people who might not want to wait. But I can wait to see what Joe says. What's another week or two. Hmm....I wonder what LMS will charge to do this??? Have to give Steve a call next week.

I guess I could throw it out, if we do that though we might end up losing some of the interested GB members... making the needed amount of members for the GB unattainable.

The price he quoted was a business price or whatever it is called, he did not know we were from a forum. I sent Joe an email to see if he could order them.

So, with 10 buyers and with a reseller license, we will get the "jobber" price or the price you were quoted?

My friend has a reseller license that I can use.

Let me know if you want to still go on.

FYI. I was talking to Gordon (FX1987) and apparently he knows the people in TW that make the FX coil-overs. According to him, it also has a Adjustable Hight Control.

It seems that they are looking for people to try it. Hopefully Gordon can chime in and shed some light.
