Jumbo Oil Catch

blow by gases pass through the PCV valve and then sent back to the intake for the engine to burn
I wouldnt worry too much. Truth is, you really dont even need one. But they do look pretty & make sense.

I got tired of emptying the catch can, I got rid of it last week and the engine seems to launch quicker. Or is it all in my head.... :ninja:

Theoretically yes - the blowby gasses essentailly decrease the effective octane of the fuel so if you have a lot of oil in the can, some increase in MPG should be expected... but maybe not large enough to notice, depending on how much blow-by your particular motor has.

Old thread but still relevant...

I've refurbished my oil catch system after it was damaged in an accident that totaled my FX. After buying my second FX, I've started swapping over all the aftermarket parts and the oil catch system got finished up this week. Here's a shot of the catch can setup before the wreck:

The aluminum plate was bent and dented in several places. Using a bench vise and some rags to protect the surface I roughed it back to flat. They I flipped it over and used a hammer to fine-tune. It's not perfect but I like knowing the history... it has character.

Hey jumbo, do you still have the Saikou Michi CAD drawing for your dual OCC setup? I'm looking to have this setup in my G35. If you do, could you post it in this thread so I can take a look at it?

Thanks!
