Sad to hear that it did not work out, dealers must be retarded which such advice?!
As far as i came is that the TICM is controlled by the BCM, maybe a try to see if another BCM does the trick?
Guessing there will be no shorts in the harness itself caused by a damaged wire or so but more likely a controller that simply does not do what is supposed to.
Think these things can not be tested or so, so for them to say replace the whole lot is the easiest way, likely the cheapest as well compared to x-amount of man hours to source the fault.
But not the story the end user wants to hear for sure.
Regarding my car: I partially lowered the headliner and found that the whole roof (the metal) had drops of water...some serious condensation.
I did also find that the drain line of that particular corner of the sun roof was blocked, after some water/compressed air that is fully open again.
Yes i did check the hose is still connected.
Also no water or traces of it were found in the "pockets" of the backside of the headliner, so no water has been pouring down, just all condensation i guess.
I left the car with one of these moisture catchers, 1 kilo of desiccant in there so hopefully when i get home all water is in there.
