intake kit on its way

chappelle-player-haters-ball.jpg

If you don't own it, you shouldn't decide how to mod it.

Do you have proof? dyno results?

search around the web.
I mean I'm not going to sift through every thread I've read ever but i know for a fact that sometimes even the generic/ebay intakes people buy decrease performance.
I would go with ones that are proven to perform rather than wasting time with others

its on... its done...and i like it

Looks like a good install and i like the bracket you used to make it fit right, maybe look into a K&N cone filter in the near future it WILL help performance/mpg!

so far so good

ok so me n the wife, with the lil one in toe. just made a 40 sum mile test drive . it seems to be working fine, i did have her open it up on the mississippi bridge . wow i duno if its the svedka or the car, but i think i can hear this lil gal getting some fresh air. (sucking noise) in the pics posted you will notice i did manage to break a pop rivet on the power duct ! any leads to where i can grab one would be cool , there are no infinity dealers around here! has anyone ever used the factory air box with a tube if so pm me .... ok mr jbaker i will clean it when i get the time i also have to protect the rims my wifes sitting on !!! JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS !!! this was not a preformance upgrade, it was a decision to save money. the whole kit was 47 dollers .... tryn buy a drop in k&n filter for that! i sorced um at 51 dollers here in town. @ any rate the wife is chill the kid has h1n1 an im bout to fill up a glass with some svedka & own some kids on cod4 modern warfare!

lets talk about drop kits next guys, the bug has bit me!!

ps thanks again I.S group:tup:

Looks good, I'll probably try the same thing with the kit that includes the K&N for $12 more. I also have access to a full fab shop with a brake and shear and about 8 yrs of alum fab experience so i'll try to make an air box too.

It's not just generic eBay intakes, functionally, they're the same as the expensive ones they knock off. It's all about piping design and where they draw the air from. An eBay intake will dyno the exact same as say a Fujita or any other intake that has a cone filter in that area. I've seen it on enough cars to know that most open element air intakes don't do much. Most modern cars have relatively efficient intake designs, so it's all about sound with aftermarket intakes. The Stillen I can see making power; not sure how the JWT would if it doesn't have a heatshield. The Z tube doesn't even do much. Look at how many G guys swap back and forth and can't measure a different in the 1/4 mi.

actually the INJEN, for example, (and you can search and find this) gives less gains than any other intake, while the stillen with the ztube is one of the best designs for the fx because it mimics the 350z intake (that's why its called the z-tube) which was tuned to perform very well. the fx is diffrerent than the g. its true that the straight pipe ones like the fujita or LMS can be easily copied but at the same time those arent the ones proven to perform the best if oyu look at all of the intakes available
and it's not about paying for the name brand its about seeing what performs the best. I'm not going to sit here and threadjack about the best intake out there you can use your time to search for that. but if you want to pay th eleast amount for a shiny ebay name-brand copy then be my guest.
