why did you choose to get an ebay intake kit :err:
sometimes they actually DECREASE performance...
Do you have proof? dyno results?
Zip ties are lighter than metal brackets. Actually could be more power

Looks good, I'll probably try the same thing with the kit that includes the K&N for $12 more. I also have access to a full fab shop with a brake and shear and about 8 yrs of alum fab experience so i'll try to make an air box too.
search around the web.
I mean I'm not going to sift through every thread I've read ever but i know for a fact that sometimes even the generic/ebay intakes people buy decrease performance.
I would go with ones that are proven to perform rather than wasting time with others
can you make a aluminum belly pan for the FX? or make one just for you, and make us all jealous lol
It's not just generic eBay intakes, functionally, they're the same as the expensive ones they knock off. It's all about piping design and where they draw the air from. An eBay intake will dyno the exact same as say a Fujita or any other intake that has a cone filter in that area. I've seen it on enough cars to know that most open element air intakes don't do much. Most modern cars have relatively efficient intake designs, so it's all about sound with aftermarket intakes. The Stillen I can see making power; not sure how the JWT would if it doesn't have a heatshield. The Z tube doesn't even do much. Look at how many G guys swap back and forth and can't measure a different in the 1/4 mi.
