I just had my oil changed at the Infiniti dealership. It costs $34.95, which includes lube, oil/filter change, lubrication of body and hinge points, and then 8 inspections and car wash/vacuum. Since it seemed so cheap, I asked what oil they use and they said valvoline something I can't remember now. I asked about the Ester oil and the service manager chuckled and said that costs $20 a quart. He just recommend doing the above service every 3,750 miles or 3 months and he said that will be plenty good. They are a dealer that I have built a good relationship with so I respect their recommendations. Just thought I'd share from my experience.
$20 a quart? Man your local dealer love's to rip people off. I think the MSRP of Nissan Ester Oil is like $12 a quart. That's just the average though. My local dealer wants $10.95 a quart for the oil. I've also seen it going on eBay as low as $9.99 a quart.
FX50 uses like 8 quarts of oil and the FX35 uses 5.2 quarts...something like that. If you don't go with Nissan Ester oil, I'd stick with Mobil 1 synthetic instead of the Valvoline stuff.
