Hello There guys, this is my first thread regarding a problem that i have with the Infiniti and i hope you guys can help me.
For starters, my 2008 fx35 is a gulf spec car, so it doesn't come with Intelligent cruise control (ICC), it is just a normal cruise and it has an issue.
Whenever i press the (ON) switch from my steering, the cruise light and the set light come on together on the cluster, and the set light starts blinking , and when i try to set the speed it wont engage.
It is only supposed to turn the "cruise" light in the gauge cluster and then have the "set" light on when i set the speed, but they are coming on both at the same time without me setting anything, and the "set" light keeps flashing and blinking.
I did what my mechanic told me to and switched both the clock-steering and the angle sensor, it worked for a day or two then the problem came again, can you guys suggest anything or help me please.
Best regards
Ahmad Babelli

Maybe not related but my 2003 would not engage cruise with wipers running...mine had ICC.

It’s an electric gremlin somewhere, but the flashing light is probably trying to tell you something..

Good luck.

Hey, sorry for the late reply but i was busy this weekend, my bad.
I am pretty sure it is trying to tell me something, you are right, but i am a 21 year old guy who to be honest isn't good with cars and mechanics in general, i did find something about it in the owners manual, but i couldn't understand the terms and seemed a bit gibbrish to me.
I know it is too much to ask but would you mind to take a look at it? Thank you <3

Page 6 is your key, you need to make a friend that works on Infinities.

I had a leaf stuck over the laser eye and shut mine down once. Make sure the little laser’s face is clean.

I'll make sure to print page 6 and take it to someone who might understand what the car is trying to tell us.
Regarding the laser face that you mentioned, pretty sure that only comes on ICC and not normal CC.
Thanks a lot man, your the best! and thanks for your time :D

Ahmad, first question I have is why are you looking at a manual for an fx 50 and you have an FX35? Are they the same wiring systems?

Regardless just looking at the manual it seems page 5 is referring to a special diagnostic tool that they may use? So page 6 is probably your best reference for troubleshooting. Looking at that chart and based on the symptoms you indicated of the blinking set light, it seems they have 5 things to look at: the brake switch, steering switch, speed sensor, the pump circuit, & the Fail-Safe system. I have no idea what the last two are referring to. So if you know how to check the speed sensor you might want to look at the the circuit on that. Seems like you already checked the steering switch? And the last item about the brakes is something that I saw how to check on YouTube. I have ICC 2006 FX35. It's basically adjusting a little switch on the brake pedal itself. Do a quick search on YouTube I'm sure you will find it. Good luck

Hey, Thanks for the reply and sorry for taking time to reply, i've been busy with my university lately.
The thing about the brake switch might be it, but if it is anything related to ICC then it is out of the equation since my car is a gulf specs with no ICC, just a traditional cruise control. I did check youtube videos that have the same issue as mine with no help as in this one
I don't know if they share the same wiring system or not to be fully honest, i just thought it might help, on the other side though, i found out a new "indicator" that might help me diagnose this problem.
If i turn the car on the first click (battery only) and then i press cruise, the cruise lights up fine without the set light flashing, and if i proceed and turn on the car fully, it would still be fine and the only light that would be on is the cruise light without the set, but as soon as i turn around my steering wheel or put it in gear, the set light starts flashing again.
I went on and explained it to a mechanic and he started telling me some crap about diagnosing the car computer while doing 60 mph, felt a bit confused to be honest.
I am still glad to hear your opinion on it, i want an easy fix because the dealership will cost me a bit that i can't afford right now.
Best Regards

I'm not sure of the circuitry for the CC. It may follow the diagram you posted for the fx50, but it seems your problem lies with the steering. In both your recent experiment and your original post you mentioned changes occurring from steering response. You might need to check the wiring/connectors going to that steering switch or sensor.

I'm no mechanic, but that's my two cents worth. Good luck

Recently, the cruise control on my '06 FX35 will not engage. When I depress the button, I get a loud beep and the amber cruise light comes on . This is the adaptive cruise control system. I even tried to hold the button down for a few seconds to bypass the adaptive control but that does nothing. Anyone else experience this, and how did you fix it? Thank you.
