Infiniti FX Lowering Springs

should i be the test dummy for intrax springs? they weren't bad when i had intrax springs on my honda years back.

That would be cool, I could use a slightly bigger drop... You will probably need Rookie's custom camber kit for the rear and the H&R camber kit for the front?

so the Intrax springs are discontinued. If someone has a set on their shelf I'd see how it handles. I'm debating about just ordering a set of H&Rs and cutting 1/2 coil off.

Conrad from the org mentioned to remember to do a cold cut and use no heat to avoid possible sagging problems later on.

I think that's a great tip.

rookie you got old shots of how low you were before the widebody? i want to be slammed and get 24x9's for the spring

I'll find some pictures with the h&r set up. To be slammed on 24s figure out your tire sizing before trying to slam it. Too tall of a tire and it will limit how low you can lower it in the front. too tall and full lock turns will rub.

I'm on h&r's but I want to cut half a coil myself.. when you say shave the spring mount, ??? is it plastic or ??? guess I gotta get under there & see

Rear upper spring mount is rubber. There's a thread on g35driver about shaving it. I never even tried running the h&rs unmodified. We cut the fronts and shaved the rear mount out of the box.

It is a great tip. We should have a discussion on the eibachs on longterm vehicles. Maybe its just me but the 45s look to keep getting lower and lower over time. Wasabi and conrad are 2 good examples. Both are running shorter tires than stock, yet their wheel gap look to be pretty small compared to newer eibachs. This isn't an eibach vs h&r thing, just something I've noticed.

Now that you mention it - my FX45 is pretty low with H&R's.

What's your initial thoughts? That the H&R's are not good long term or that Eibachs are not good long term?

I love the soft ride of my H&R's and the stance it gives with the drop. It's clearly noticeable and different than a FX35 of my buddies with H&R and Eibachs (regardless of what springs they have).

I think I had them for a year so far - if I can get 2 more years I'd be happy. I'm sure my struts/shocks will have to be replaced then anyways?

Being lower the 35s is to be expected. Is it getting lower and lower?

If it's staying somewhat the same that's a good thing. I wonder if Pierce has a measurement or picture from his initial lowering.

Here's the rear spring mount.

I still have the piece I shaved off, will try to find both ends since I don't have the spring mounts in place anymore.

This was the day after we installed the H&Rs. Doesn't even look that low compared to the 45s.
