how to install paddle shifters

I'm still loving my V1's!!! Use them plenty and it gives me a smile just seeing them there. Thanks turbo!

i saw the paddle shifters on one of the fx trusks we detailed over the weekend. the installation was clean & stock looking. i thought it was a cool different thing i never saw before on an FX.

John, thought I check in with you on the paddles. Summer is about 4 months away. Any chance you might be doing the v2? If not, I'm still interested in the v1. Hope I didn't miss the group buy. Thanks.

bump: V1 , works great in traffic (I get to drag the low gears and less brake) and puts a  in the hwy. thanks john.

guys, I'm really sorry to keep everyone hanging, but I didn't want to take on something like this until I know that I can get your orders in, build them & then get them out to you in a timely manor. with something like this the parts are expensive & I would need to take a deposit from you to order the parts & build these... no matter how many people want to send me money, if I can't provide what is needed then I can't take any money from anyone

I may keep people waiting forever & a day for headlights, but keep in mind that there I haven't taken a penny from anyone either, & won't until I just about have something ready to ship to them, so if they wait for months & months & months through all the development time & everything else it's just because I haven't been able to complete it yet, but in the end they loose nothing because I took nothing from them & then made them wait. although they really want it, if it's not done yet then it's not done yet. even if they never got done at all then there still not loosing a thing really, at that point the only one loosing $$$ is me, but that's fine because it is by my choice & my doing, once I'm given money though it's a whole different story, when I take money from someone then they have to get there product in a timely manor. that's my rule

the parts cost have went up a bit since the last sets of paddles I've built. the total increase in parts prices is ~$50, so these paddles are now $700 + shipping instead of $650+ shipping that they were before. I will require a $350 deposit & the balance would be due when there built & ready to ship to you. approx time for completion is around 2 weeks give or take, so maybe 3 weeks or so :shy: I can build multiples at the same time & this is way more efficient for me than building them one at a time really, so the time frame should still hold even with multiples of these. I have quite a few sets of these out there already & everyone who has them loves them, none have ever given any trouble at all & realistically they should last as long as your fx lasts.

I'm going to start a list here for whoever wants these. I will close out this list end of next week unless I need to close it out sooner if too many do wind up wanting them. once I close out the list you will need to send me the $350 deposit & your Vin # & your interior wheel color, black or tan. I do remember that the tan ones were slightly cheaper back then but I haven't bought tan in a long time so I'm not 100% sure by how much cheaper the tan ones will be. from memory it wasn't a huge difference, 30 something dollars or so maybe? whatever savings I can pass on to you for that I will if you happen to have tan steering wheel. this is priced for the real deal magnesium infiniti paddles. I think I can do the plastic Nissan paddles a little cheaper but the paddles are thicker & there plastic & not leather wrapped like these either. later I can show you what the Nissan paddles look like for you to judge, but the infiniti ones are def nicer. I need to confirm how much cheaper the Nissan ones actually are but I don't think it's even $100 cheaper really.

so, who wants paddles??? don't know when I'll get to do another batch of these so if you want them for this spring nows the time. as far as the V2's, which believe it or not have now evolved to v3's:cool:, that is still a thought in the back of my head & I may someday get around to actually doing something about producing them, but realistically as of right now they are still nothing but a prototype & not available, probably won't see anything there until well after the summer at least, that's if I ever even get around to them... these are tested, proven & available right now for whoever wants them... v3's may or may not ever come about, I'd like to think they will someday... def no time soon

Come on peoples!!! Doooooo it! The ones in the middle in the picture above are mine and I've been LOVING them!! Not a single problem to report.

Thanks again turbo!

page 1 is scarry because it,s showing you what it takes to build them. I.ll be doing all that for you. the install itself isn.t very difficult. it involves removing & reinstalling the steering wheel & removing & reinstalling the radio. there are 5 wires to connect & 2 areas of hidden plastic that need to be cut. for a novice it may take you 2 afternoons or a really long one day. the install can be done in 2 seperate sessions too, with the fx drivable in between. you can install the paddles one day & then remove the radio another day to just wire them up. for someone that knows what there doing it might take 3 or 4 hours for the whole install, a novice might take 4 hours for each part worse case I think.

this thread is very clutered & hard to pick out the install instructions. i,m going to clean it up & seperate the install part to clear concise condensed instructions but if you dont have 2 left thumbs & can get your hands on a few tools & are a little handy with my guidance you may be able to self install these really

dave, these are the stock infiniti mechanisims, thunk thunk, not click clack with magnets, steel stoppers & microswitch custom mechanisim I built. these are the same original paddles that every fx has so far, 100% oem switches. theres only one set of those all metal ones in existence & there in a friends 350z. I kmow, I,m jelous every time he comes by with them too, there def nice but way to much labor to hand build one by one. I think of one day when I can develop a way to manufacture them more effectively, but too many ideas not enough time:tongue:

I had waited and waited for v2+, and just gone V1. Didn't want to miss the opportunity for something that's a real custom.. Still clicks smoothly and works in flush with all stalks. , I'll upgrade to v3 if it comes down that line (if my mod funds aren't gone by then).
