how to install paddle shifters

yeah, they're on the back burner... hard to say when they'll really be available... if it seems like it will be a very long time I may do one more batch of the v1's if anyone wanted them, but the v2's will be slightly better, easier to install & a little cheaper.

for those that don't want to wait though the v1's are still a valid design, still awesome reliable & proven, & may be available sooner for fx's...

either way were still at least a month or 2 away from anything with these, v2's a bit more I'd say...

With that being said...I'm am still loving my V1 paddles and use them constantly! Either way you go, you'll be VERY pleased!

Cheers to turbo!

damn i want these so bad but the cost of it ouch
but these do look awsome
in the near future maybe
good work john

I'm guessing since you are now creating this as a kit I wont have to worry about the wiring as much anymore. But looking at your original DIY, I can't wrap my head around why is the power going to the relays?
I thought power was going to the steering wheel switches which then trigger the relays?

john...

out of curiosity i have a question
1

i see how you fitted paddle shifters into a manual transmission z, but how do you activate the paddles? Will they always be activated? and when you shift with the paddles, will the shifter also move by itself into the correct position? I always thought that clutch + paddle shifters were never combined but i was prob wrong.

patrick, that's a maxima I used for test fitting to the maximas... yeah that one is stick & no, paddles won't work on stick, that was just for test fitting though...

I will def do another batch of these V1's before the holidays, maybe closer to the end of october... will still be V1's, can't even say when or even if V2's will ever be available... maybe someday, but not anytime soon... no time & too many winter project plans to even think about developing the v2's for production any time reasonabally soon, so who ever wants paddles, the next batch will be your oportunity... already have several guys who have been in contact with me for these past few months & all have been told the same...

Hi. John
I've noticed you even make V1 for some people personally.
I was just wondering if it's possible for you to custom make one for me.
If you will make one for me then how do I go about the pay?
Can you please let me know the details ASAP.
I'm dying to get it installed ASAP.

Thank you

ok, I have a few guys that are really itching for these, I'm sorry that I haven't had time to do much about them but I did promise that I'd do another batch for those guys who really want these, I will be doing a group buy on paddles in about 2 weeks or so, just need to finish up a few other loose ends first & then when I can really get down with these I'll do it... I want to take on a group buy when I know I can dedicate the time to them it'll take for me to get it done. I'll start a group buy thread in about a week or so to see how many of these I'll wind up having to get into

one thing I have noticed is, past few months especially, nissan/infiniti parts have went up in price across the board... I haven't bought these parts in a while so I'm not 100% sure where the cost will be, might be slightly higher than before... I also notice that the 09 maxima paddles look about the same as the g paddles I've used for this, but there cheaper(~50-60 cheaper I think) because they don't have the leather wrap, I'm going to order a set of nissan maxima paddles right now so I can see the viability of using those instead to try & bring the costs down as much as I can, maybe I can offer the non leather wrapped ones for a little less as an option?...

in about one week I'll start a group buy thread for paddles, should be able to have you guys paddle shifting away in time for the holidays:tongue:

still v1....
v2 is an awesome idea & an awesome design, especially for something like say a 350z where v1's are totally impossible, but, unfortunately I have never fully developed a way to manufacture them efficently enough... will I ? I'd like to think that I may someday, but, wether that someday actually comes or not is still questionable at best...

these are still a very good design, tested & proven & these, unlike the v2's, are actually available... you could hold out for the v2's as I do think they may come someday, just no time soon at least  maybe next summer? maybe? hard to say...
