How reliable has your 2nd gen 2009+ FX35/50 been?

owner of an '09 here with 35K miles..

- Similar issue with the mirrors loose and rattling.. Got some Loctite to put on the threads per the DIY I found on the forum.
- Got the reflash done a month ago.. Didnt notice any real issue with the transmission but I was/am still new to the car and I doubt the previous owner had it done. Out of warranty, my local Infiniti dealership did it for free anyway
- Same ticking/rattling noise coming from my cats/Y pipe area.. read about similar issues and with most people it seemed a bracket had come loose/rusted out causing the rattle.
- Minor issue with interior trim coming 'untucked' where the roof liner meets the sides.. Not a big deal but unsure how to permanently fix..
- High pitched whistling noise coming from drivers side (mirror?) when driving at high speed.. Doesn't always happen

Other than that, no real issues so far! In great mechanical condition for an '09! Nervous about the wood peeling on my doors but so far it looks good. As I am way out of warranty now, I'd just glue them back on if/when it happens.

Sport Mode shifting question.. When you guys pop the shifter over into sport mode, is it supposed to automatically downshift 1x gear? Mine does...

It should not be automatically downshift to 1st gear. Well it also depends on the speed your going too

I'm sorry, I can now see how my post may be misleading.. I only meant when I switch over to sport mode it automatically downshifts by 1 gear

Yes that's normal. Unfortunately with my FX, it doesn't tell you which gear it shifted to (which, depending on the speed, can be problematic with a 7 speed). It just says DS. On my M35, it says which gear it downshifts to. But it only has a 5 speed.

Mine does this too, it'll say DS but as soon as I shift up/down it'll display which gear I'm in..

Yes it does downshift on its own. I do it all the time.

Thanks both of you for confirming my FX works the way it should! Thought something was messed up for awhile!

2009 FX50 49k miles, bought about a month and a half ago. Only issue is the seat memory and auto retract function stopped working when I disconnected the battery... Haven't been able to reactivate it :(

Mine did that. I went to the settings on the screen turned it on and off again, then saved my seat memory setting again.. worked.

I have these exact same issues - outside of that very pleased with my purchase

2009 FX35 - 170k (kilometers)

90k and no problems, but the thing is a freaking rattle trap. Worse than any other vehicle I’ve ever owned.

2012 fx35 with 65k no issues so far. Can’t decide if I will keep it or trade it I’m for a pickup truck or a bigger suv. Most likely I will keep it as my daily driver

Mine, FX35 ‘09. First 5 years had few issues including dash completely cracked, which I replaced. After 8 years old it became more stable. I love my FX, I’m planning to keep it no matter I purchase another vehicle.

2013 FX50S with 78K on the clock, no issues to date other than some minor vibration somewhere in the dash trim that began last year.

2010 FX35 @73K: leaked radiator. Tranny was sluggish but has been smooth after doing the drain and fill 4 times.
