Hitting 100,000 miles MAJOR SERVICE

Hi IS Fam,

I am coming up on 100,000 miles any day now on my 2004 Infiniti FX45.

I'd like to do a major service that would make my car run in tip top condition. Nothing to spare.

Things done recently:

Brakes and Alignment, Calipers, Lines, Tires, Spark Plugs.

What is everything else that I can do to make this car feel 100% again. She deserves it! Please let me know a list of things and I'll get her in the shop asap!

Thank you guys!

Check fluids like power steering and coolant where you can see if they are dirty and flush/replace. 90k is usually a service interval for diff and transfer case so that's something to consider, as well as transmission fluid. Also you could check and replace suspension wear items like bushings such that can tear, leak, etc. and look into replacing shocks.

Great thanks!

I am also looking to change my suspension entirely.

What is the most economical route? to change shocks/struts/springs or to get coilovers which is all of that?

Either way, what is the most economical for a smooth ride.

and is there a good site for me to source these parts that you can recommend?

I guess it depends on who's doing the work. If a shop, it would cost more in labor to take the springs off the shock, but I'm not sure if you'd save money by just swapping to coilovers. I've never replaced my shocks so I don't know pricing. I went from springs to coilovers around 50k miles. I'm guessing just replacing worn out shocks is the cheapest in the end though.

I use www.infinitipartsusa.com for buying OEM parts as they typically have the best price. I'm not sure about you being in Canada though. I think www.rockauto.com is a popular site as well. I haven't used them, but it seems like they have OEM quality parts without the markup.

105k service is like plugs, coolant and brake fluid. Maybe look at the serp belt.

Fx are rough on suspension most need them by 60k.

I didn't know we had to change springs? But I do know we have to change the struts and shocks

Springs can usually last the life of the vehicle. Unless you want those CO ;-)

That's a good deal dude.

That list alone has like 200 bucks worth of fluids on it. another 20 for the cabin filter, 200 atleast for the brake parts, 30 atleast for the belts. Means your paying him only like a couple hundred max for his time.

he said the brakes were 230 after taxes, fluids were couple hundred bucks and the belts and filters covered most of the rest...and of course our incredible wallet denting taxes on top lol
