Hey my first dent!

Damn my hood blows. gotta park my FX outside due to all the STUFF in my garage, and it earned me my first ding. I'm guessing a BB gun or something because its a nice dimple above the front wheel, bastards. meanwhile i'm doing bodywork on my jalopy Miata with bondo & Krylon and thinkin man i wish the FX was this easy... :6wink: BB

& my new monthly edition is a gift from some moron parking sh!t-fvck, & I was responsibly parked in the corner of a big lot. You know we love our cars when we can tell you where & when these things happen . . even when were not there to witness it.

Dave,

I have something similar on rear bumper. Lady driving a Escalade (on phone) rear ended me at a stop light! oth stopped, waiting for light to change, Red mean stop lady, not let go of the brake. I didn't see the effects until much later (it looks like a license plate outline on the lower rear bumper).

this thread should be called rant about Sh*tty drivers/ parkers:xd:

Did you get it repaired? Everyone that's seen it doesnt want to touch it with a heat & push job. They all say it has to be filled & painted. I'm on the fence on this one. So far I'm living with it. Seems like it gets easier to live with as each day goes by.

still have it, can't really see it.

and I tell myself "its not that bad":embarrassed:

:4tongue:

Had a cart hit my FX today at Marshalls. Looking for a new rolling backpack for my son and next thing I hear is my alarm going off. Went outside and had a cart on my front bumper, luckily no damage...but I do need the front repainted anyways from all the chips.

I have a dent on my rear bumper where my wife hit a car parallel parking.

Dent on my upper right fender where I pressed to hard with my hand reinstalling my s/c.

Few other dings on each door.

oh'well:frown:

Were all becoming beaters . . . & destined to be a gardners daily driver with a weed wacker out the rear window missing hatch . . . blue smoke billowing from rusty nismo tailpipes . . . somebody wake me !!!!

I have. PDR works great, but some most dents near edges where sheet metal is bent over cannot be taken out. Plastic is also likely out :frown:

Body Shop Nightmare

My wife got rear ended on Memorial day weekend. Our FX's hold up rather well. The Jeep Cherokee that hit her had it's front bumper tore off completely and the FX had a small crease on the bumper.
The insurance replaced the bumper witch made me happy as I had some scratches on my bumper .
I had both doors on drivers side done also-all dings repaired and painted.I am thinking of tying paintless dent removale for dings on other side doors.
The bumper came out looking good but I have to take the FX back to the body shop where I had the work done to fix all their screw up's.There are several spots with clear coat runs,They managed to screw up stuff that was in good condition before I brought it in.They managed to scratch all 4 roof rail end caps, rear plastic window cover, and several other areas with a power buffer. Also the doors they painted are not done to my satisfaction. They said they will make it right.I'm going to take it back because I want it done right but I am more than little worried about bringing it back to them.I always thought that when you brought a car to a body shop your car should come back better than it was not worse.

Horrible story. Most shops tend to be this way. Get it all fixed right or complain. The runs can be colorsanded, but the scratches sound like new parts. I said 'Do it Again' 3 times before they realized that I wasnt checking out until it was close to perfect.
& after all the bitching . . .

10/4 on that I told them that was my baby and that I wanted it done right and to take their time to do so!
They said they could polish the plastic parts. We'll see,if I am not satisfied I will definately be on them to make it right!

polish plastic !?! . . . that's bull right there. I garantee they'll be ordering parts on your next visit
I thought so too but I'm not sure how far they will go to make it right. If it they won't fix it to my satisfaction I guess I'll be in small claims court.

fxlr8 , why don't you try a clear bra after you have your front bumper repainted. Also , has anyone had success using a paintless dent removal service?

Carlos took his to the G35 meet thing a couple of months ago where they had a guy do the paintless dent removal. You cant even tell where he had his dent now. Maybe Carlos can chime in
