If you could PM Me his # that would be great.:top:

My wife got rear ended on Memorial day weekend. Our FX's hold up rather well. The Jeep Cherokee that hit her had it's front bumper tore off completely and the FX had a small crease on the bumper.
The insurance replaced the bumper witch made me happy as I had some scratches on my bumper .
I had both doors on drivers side done also-all dings repaired and painted.I am thinking of tying paintless dent removale for dings on other side doors.
The bumper came out looking good but I have to take the FX back to the body shop where I had the work done to fix all their screw up's.There are several spots with clear coat runs,They managed to screw up stuff that was in good condition before I brought it in.They managed to scratch all 4 roof rail end caps, rear plastic window cover, and several other areas with a power buffer. Also the doors they painted are not done to my satisfaction. They said they will make it right.I'm going to take it back because I want it done right but I am more than little worried about bringing it back to them.I always thought that when you brought a car to a body shop your car should come back better than it was not worse.
The Saga continues--I have not brought the FX back to the body shop yet but yesterday I went to the DMV to pick up my new personlized plates(MTN FX) and as I was standing in line to get into the DMV I watched this junker ford van pull in next to the FX and on the oppisite side of me the passenger of the van got out and pulled a wheelchair out of the van and then the mom a 300 pounder got out of the van and rolled out of her seat and hit one of the newly painted doors with her door.I was at the front of the line to get into the DMV so I did not approach them yet.I went into the DMV to get my wait # and they sent me out to pull my old plates off. When I got out to car I could see the new scratch so when I went back into the DMV office I approached the perpatrators. They tried to deny it at first. So here I was getting pissed off in the DMV and everyone was looking at me like I was scrooge yelling at the poor lady in the wheelchair :mad:NICE.They finally copped to it and we exchanged insurance info.:thumpdown:AAAAAAAAAARGH!!!

that's why ALL the trim should be removed from any panel that gets sprayed... if the trim is removed the clearcoat wraps the edge even under the trim & won't peel, if you tape up to, & sand up to trim, then that is the first thing to start peeling...

Ouch! another beater joins the ranks.
LMK when your ready, & we'll do a group buy on lawn mowers & weed wackerz!

Guess I will have to make them do that when I take it back to them.

Returned to body shop

My baby went back to the body shop today----I hope they fix all their screw up's.I went around the FX and marked all the screw ups with peices of masking tape at each item to fix so they don't miss anything.I really did not want to bring it back to them but I had little choice as they have to fix there shotty work.HOPE THEY GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I took the FX back on the 16th as per the appointment I had to wait 3 weeks for and I thought I would stop by today and see how they were doing. They have not even started on it yet WTF why bother with scheduling an appointment if it is just going to sit there.Humberto I saw on your post that you are looking for a shop to fix your bumper I hope you have better luck than I am having.
I plan on visiting the body shop twice a day untill it's done.Maybe if they get tired of seeing my mug they will get it done!

that's bs... I mean did they at least tell you when it would be done when you dropped it off? & this is a redo, meaning they already got paid & now owe you this? some shops suck with stuff like this & will always put money jobs before it... not right, this should take priority over new work...

They asked how soon I needed it back but after the shitty work they did originaly did I told them that I was more concerned with quality of job than how long it takes. Still why schedule a day if it's just gonna sit there.AAAAAAAAAAAAArgh!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, so basically they heard this as take your time, I'm in no rush:cry:... back burner's where it winds up cause every one else wants there's back yesterday

in scheduling, sometimes cars can sit a bit, but as long as it's "in the rotation" it should get done... I'll have someone drop off a car & I tell them 3 days... then they'll come by a few hours later & say hey, why haven't you started it yet... well your not the only car here buddy, give me the 3 days I told you it would take... it'll get done, & yes it has to be here just to go in the rotation... can't really schedule to start working on it the minute it arives...

as long as there responsible it should still make it through but the worse thing you can do is tell a busy shop to take there time with your car... I'd tell him you need it for sure by the middle of next week, or whatever time period you think is way more than enough time & then go from there... in the end each & every shop will give a different level & quality of service... sucks this one doesn't seem to be at such a high level....
