hello to all~~~~(a little long...sorry)

hello infiniti scene!!! i previously joined fx.org but i seem to be drawn more to this site~ i'm a straight noob to any sorts of forums and i have no knowledge of auto modifications. however, for some reason...i am urged to mod my 04' fx35 that i purchased a few weeks ago and my lil bro (mod-freak) keeps putting ideas in my head to mod my fx. anyhow, its an absolute pleasure to be a part of this forum and i look forward to getting great advice/help and meeting new friends!
quick intro: name's young and i'm 27 living in cerritos, california. my previous car was a '02 lexus gs300 which i really enjoyed. unfortunately, during half-time of super bowl, i got t-boned while coming out of a driveway by a f-150. i'm lucky to be alive w/only a few hairline fractures on my lower lumbar spine. since the accident i wanted a bigger car but i was not a fan of suv's. however, i did remember liking what i saw in the fx when it first came out of production. so here i am, happy to be alive and happy with my fx.
i bought a black/brick '04 fx35 awd, sport, touring, and tech packages with 30k miles on it. i absolutely love the car except for one minor problem...the ride quality. with my weak back, and the "smooth" streets and fwy of LA...i definitely feel every little crack, bumps, holes, and/or imperfections on the road. i've been searching for any help on changing the springs out and i'm left with two options to choose from, eibachs and the h&r's. i'm leaning more towards the h&r b/c i remember reading a post by Rookie saying the h&r would suit better if concerned with ride quality.
anyways, looks like i've been babbling too long...sorry about the long post and again i wanted to say hello to everyone. by the way, if any of you guys live around so cal, if you're ever in the long beach area drop by my sushi place and i'll give a discount to all fx owners! haha have a nice week everyone!

Welcome to the scene! really sorry to hear about your accident, glad to hear you are alright. FX's are known to be quite harsh and you will feel the bumps and road imperfections.

from what i have heard and read, the Eibach's seem to give a harsher ride than the H&R's but it is all speculation. to be honest i dont think anyone can really give a real input comparing the springs unless they have had both...i think only a few members have had both sets of springs; hopefully they will chime in.

haha...let the modding begin

Glad to have you, & welcome a boards! :iS:
Sorry 'bout your back, but glad to see you made it through the ordeal.
Dont even think Eibach cuz the ride is very firm. Go H&R if you really need to lower, & with a spring change, the ride will be firmer, yet less bouncy, so that that might be a good thing in your case as far as comfort. Tires can make a difference, & pressures also. What are you running right now?
Lots of us here in SoCal, so you will meet a bunch of peeps here if you go to some of the meets.
Where's your Sushi place, & what's the name?

Hey Young, welcome to :iS: and congrats on the FX. Sorry to hear about your misfortune but glad the nothing more serious had happened. If ride quality was/is a concern due to your low back situation then the FX with sport suspension might not have been your best choice. But you are probably looking in the right direction for replacement springs in the H&R's.

Maybe he should make an appt to see you Doc
(There's a plug for you)

Actually, not a horrible idea
toro included, & those little mocha & mango ice creams?

eh hello... not to be insensitive but i got dizzy reading that essay... ^_^ ill read it later... but i did read the noob part... so if u need help... juss turn on the BAT SIGN (SPOT LIGHT)

welcome

Discount sushi!! I'm there!

Welcome to the Scene and hopefully you'll find some relief for your back with the new springs.

Welcome to the scene and happy you are doing good.

There are a lot of us in So Cal. Hopefully you can make it to one of the meets.

There are a lot of good people on here with lots of knowledge and good ideas.

I totally agree with Jc.

definitely some good came out from the accident...including the fx and painkillers!! hehe~

the sushi place is in long beach on the corner of cherry and wardlow, across the street from boeing.
the place is called Kiku roll & sushi. i'm sorry to disappoint gto-dave, but we dont have toro nor ice cream =(
we're more of a fast food type of sushi place. to be honest i hate sushi or anything raw...
i'll make it but i wont eat it...haha anyways, i wouldnt mind any of the local guys to drop by...
i would hook it up fat if i wasnt a part owner...but since its a family business i can only do a small
discount and add a few more goodies to that. (i.e. free refreshments, sorry no alcohol...)

psclne, so u must of hung out at cerritos towne center often. careful with the camera at that intersection...
i swear i think someone at the traffic center changes the lights on purpose right b4 you approach the intersection!!

by the way, thanks to all for the advice on springs...looks like i'll be going with the h&r springs.
my lil bro bought and installed a z-tube and popcharge? or something for me as my new car gift...
sure does feel and sound better~ haha...with my bro influencing me and all these nice pics of people's fx's...
it will be hard to resist modding...
ok...i need to learn to keep my posts a little shorter...hehe

sorry...one last thing...actually two things...
what does "bump" mean in forums???

and lastly...does anyone local want to trade their stock 20" rims for my chrome stock 20" rims?? i dont have alot of tread left so i'm willing to pay a lil extra cash. i would prefer the silver aluminum wheels, but regular alloys would do fine too. thanks!!

'bump' is used to keep the thread topic current on the forums and not get pushed back to the older pages as would happen if new posts come up throughout the day/week.

As for your trade offer I suggest posting that in the classified section for better visibility.

Welcome to the scene!

H&Rs will ride smoother than lowering on the Eibachs. Also consider a tire change to smooth out the ride if you're on the original (oem) 20s with the oem Goodyear tires.

Happy modding.
