2003–2006 INFINITI FX; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN HEADLAMP ASSEMBLYNissan has determined that on some model Year 2003-2006 Infiniti FX35/45 vehicles, the headlamps fail to comply with certain requirements set forth in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108.The standard specifies, among other things, the performance requirements for headlamps in passenger vehicles. One of these requirements specifies the vertical gradient values for headlamps. Another specifies minimum and maximum light intensity of headlamps at certain test points. The headlamps in the vehicles subject to this TSB may not meet these requirements. This means that the headlamp aim may be difficult to adjust. Also, the headlamps may be too bright or too dim when viewed at certain angles. Reduced visibility increases the risk of the vehicle being involved in a crash. Increased brightness and improper aiming of headlamps can increase glare. To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Recall Campaign to replace the existing headlamps with new and compliant lamps free of charge.

So if my passenger headlamp housing is dusty inside, is it possible to get it replaced under this recall?
-I've never tampered with it.

If it hasn't been done yet contact infiniti and they can check if it has been changed out allraeady or not.

Soooo I went to Infiniti today to get my oil change and told them about the headlamp recall on the 03-06 FX35's.. the lady went and searched something onto her computer and said "There seems to be no recalls for your vehicle.."

Did you buy your FX new? If not it might have been done already. She might have meant that there are no outstanding recalls for your vehicle.

The change was made to the lens in the projector. They are not as clear and are more "cloudy" to reduce output and sharpness. That's why all the FX HIDs look more yellow and worse than other cars on the road.

So today I went to the Infiniti dealership in westmont off of ogden, to get my new set up allighned and camber corrected as much as possible. This place has been open less than a year, pretty much brand new. Very nice inside and of course a serious major knockout at the counter. Guys name I delt with was Lance. To the point, top notch service and low and behold a recall on both front headlights and rear tailight assemblys due to the angle of the light. Replaced with brand new on all, saw a 1600 bill, my cost was 99 buck for the allighnment. The front lens in the projector seems more clear than my old dull yellowed one. I had been looking at my old ones a lot because I had spider cracks that I wanted to remedy. I run 6000k, now matches my fogs that are also 6000k much better than before, crystal clear IMO completly satisfied.
