Headlamp Recall

Is this a new recall or the same old one?

I haven't heard about the rear taillight assembly recall. Was that just the brake lights?

Did you buy your FX new? If not it might have been done already. She might have meant that there are no outstanding recalls for your vehicle.

Wow, I didn't see this. But I highly doubt it was bought used. My mother paid $40k+ for it in '06 and the model is an 06' FX35.
I hope they're not trying to avoid replacing my headlights.. -______-

The recall was only for early 2006. They actually stopped shipment in the middle of the model year and held a lot of cars at the ports to swap out the lights before delivering them to the dealers.

DAMNIT! My passenger headlight still has condensation

Here is a photo rookie took of the fxs being held at port on the west coast. He said there were also 2 or 3 more sections full as well:

They were suppose to drill holes through them to destroy and dispose of them. Somehow, a few got out into the marketplace. Imagine that.

Joe, you should've told us you planned on going there when you mounted your Axis's! I know the service advisor really well, Mike. I could've had him swap sport heads and tails for you, lol. That new dealer is very nice. I live seven minutes from there. They have in house alignment there, which is really nice. By the way, its in Clarendon Hills, not Westmont. :tongue (2):

So today I went to the Infiniti dealership in westmont off of ogden, to get my new set up allighned and camber corrected as much as possible. This place has been open less than a year, pretty much brand new. Very nice inside and of course a serious major knockout at the counter. Guys name I delt with was Lance. To the point, top notch service and low and behold a recall on both front headlights and rear tailight assemblys due to the angle of the light. Replaced with brand new on all, saw a 1600 bill, my cost was 99 buck for the allighnment. The front lens in the projector seems more clear than my old dull yellowed one. I had been looking at my old ones a lot because I had spider cracks that I wanted to remedy. I run 6000k, now matches my fogs that are also 6000k much better than before, crystal clear IMO completly satisfied.

Wow, nice to hear that Joe. Didn't know there is a recall for the taillights. So how is your camber now?

I beleive the recall was for more than just 2006 I hade my 04 swapped out. The TSB reads---

2003–2006 INFINITI FX; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN HEADLAMP ASSEMBLYNissan has determined that on some model Year 2003-2006 Infiniti FX35/45 vehicles, the headlamps fail to comply with certain requirements set forth in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108.

Dang sports? That sux but can't be too mad, got a lot for free. Maybe the rear tailight recall is new, not sure but they did it there.
Clarendon hills, really? Not more than 1min East of my work, prob just over the fence right there. Didn't mount the Axis there, just had the in house Alignment done. Mounted and balanced at my work then I put them on over the weekend so I could play with the height a bit. You should hit me up some time or stop by Mercedes since your so close.

Camber is much better but not perfect, debating on the camber kit or an extra set of tread, very close in price. She sure handles good though:wink (2):

I ordered a bunch of SPC Performance 72265 Kit. I have 2 kits extra if you want them. $44 for both.

I used to have a condo in Clarendon Hills....hmmm brings back memories!

There just no way to tell from outside. The only to tell is open the bulb cap and look through the lens. If you see clearly, its pre-recall. If blury it's post. To me there is no point to identify prep/post. Just buy the headlight if the price is right. Most of us going to open it up and paint the shroud anyway, while at it put some clear lens from TRS FX-R TSX-R lens in there. The result is way better.
