GTR Rims

premature post but i just pick up my set from the wheel refinisher today and it looks so sexy i can't resist posting a picture.

has not been repainted, still got OEM paint, just touch up on sum surface scruffage thanks to the shipper's lack of precaution.

anyways can't wait to get it on my baby but it won't be anytime soon:frown:, here's hoping it would fit without rubbing.
Any suggestion on lugnut color? I was thinking of going titanium blue to match my exhaust tip but on second thought it may look too rice.

If you go with Ray's - IMO the gunmetal wheels with the blue Rays lugs would look ricey as there is no other color for the lugs to play off, but that's your call. The 35mm gunmetal Ray's lugs look really nice, the color is off just a bit but you really don't notice it and the heads of the lugs are flat compared the surface of the wheel surrounding the lug head so they look a little brighter at times (which actually looks pretty slick). Just remember - Torque wrench only when at the shop, anything else will chew the duralum material up big time.

I run these lugs, project kics r40's, they'd probably match pretty nicely w/ the new wheels ... congrats, going to look great!

Nice looking rims
can you share a link to the web site you got them from? price?
are they re-finished or replica?
thanks

Yea that's where I got them they came off a 2010 gtr with minimal use. Only reason why it was touch up is because of the surface damage occur during shipping. Make sure to take extra precaution if you do purchase used one that the shipper pack it properly

Another thing that I think would help is to take a picture of how it's packaged before shipping. That way if there is any damage upon arrival, the seller can say I packed it well enough, see. Then the blame lies with the shipping company and they hopefully can't weasel out of it.

I found out thru this whole ordeal that the shipping company take 0 responsibility once the package is sign for and open. So if you want to be completely cover not only ask the seller to take picture before shipping also to make the delivery boy stay and watch you open the package. I'm a little piss at ups since they are basically saying the insurance is for the box not the items inside =\ also compensation from ups goes to the shipper not the receiver because in their eyes the shipper paid the charge and thus he is their customer not the receiver.

One of the biggest issues (and sounds like what you dealt with zero) is scuffing, direct contact with cardboard and the paint. If there is no pressure on the board all is fine BUT if anything is stacked on the wheel or the the wheel is shoved up against something and during shipping it moves enough the cardboard will rub the paint - off. You have to lay down a layer of foam first or bubble pack then the cardboard goes down. I had a few wheels shipped lately and one of them was lightly scuffed but it buffed out. That was a fairly local shipment. Ship cross country and your precious wheels can get toasted. The last wheel I got was from a guy on NAGTROC (kind of funny it was the same guy who sold Chinke his wheels) was packed amazingly well the box was HUGE and there was tons of foam in there. You could have driven a truck over it.....

Shipping companies do not want to cover damage.

I just got my GTR rims and my tires are on the way...I got Yokohama Parada Spec-X 275/45R20 front and 295/45R20 rear...pictures as soon as I get them on. Should I transfer over my tpms from my wheels now or run the GTR wheels without TPMS?

Going with a shorter tire in the front I see. I transferred my TPMS over as it's a pretty simple process. I assume it will work just fine, but won't know until Monday.

I placed an order on a set of oem gtr rims, i tried doing some measurements, and i fear that the rear would stick out too much! I took a look at the photos, and from there i can see that it is not that bad, i can live with that, but is there anyway i can get a shot of the rear? to see the difference? thnks! Does that car have H&R's?

Thnks alot mrlerry!!! I hope my first generation FX will work out as well :DDDD

there's a few members with GTR wheels on Gen1 FXs: logan / jbaker1121 / stulax18 / iheartfx / chinke82

japanese fx owner (IP color) with the goods.
