Hello all,

Glad to find a FX forum. I'm a huge car nut and the first thing I do before buying is start searching the web for a club or forum to learn as much as I can before the big purchase.

I've been a Nissan guy pretty much all of my car buying life. After graduating I picked up a Z32 NA 300ZX, then stepped down slightly to a 240SX (needed the rear seats), then on to a R32 Skyline GTR (actually brought in one of the first legal ones in Canada and started a Canadian GTR forum called GTRCanada.com) and now currently own a 1996 R33 Skyline GTR and a supercharged NSX.

Being in Ottawa I need a good awd daily driver and last year finally gave up my E60 M5 and bought a 2005 Grand Cherokee (I know...). I have always liked the FX since the first "bionic cheetah" concept was flogged around by Nissan in 2001 and wanted one forever but budget forced me to buy what I thought was the better deal of a SUV. Big mistake! 6 months of Jeep ownership and I'm taking a huge loss to go back on the market for a good FX35.

Glad to be here. Hope to learn lots and contribute. I've got my radar on a decent 2005 FX35 but the drivers seat is really ripped up. Hope someone can help me source an economical repair solution.

John

Welcome to iS. The ripped seat is a usual problem for some FX's, you can fix it at any good upholstery shop IMO. Or use "as seen on TV" leather repair kit.

Welcome to the scene. I suggest a 2006+ model, for the updated changes.

Nice car collection and pics when possible.

Thanks guys. I'm dying to show off my rides but your forum requires 10+ posts, and I hate whoring a forum lol. I'll get there soon I hope. :)

If you want to see some of my cars you can check out my blog: thensxblog.com

Nice collection of rides. Welcome to :iS:all things FX:top::top:

Great info up there.

I'm less than 12 hrs on this forum and already it's changing my mind on the FX I have in mind.

My wife wants me to look into a Volvo XC. I'm pretty adamant that I've got to have a guy's vehicle :D

Any members nearby looking to sell?

Sounds like a pretty nice collection you have going. The FX will be a great addition to your stable!

Welcome to iS.

My parents have an '03 and I ended up buying an '07. I agree with the guys above that it's worth a little extra money to get the upgrades. What color are you looking for?

Welcome to IS!

You should definitely follow everyone's suggestion by searching for a facelift model 06-08. You are at a forum that is friendly, invaluable, and will help you with whatever questions you have prior to your purchase! :smug:

+1 on '06 and up. Welcome to IS and good luck with the search f a new FX. Nice rides you have there.

Thanks for he advice guys but I went back to the dealer today and after 45 mins of going back and forth he made me an offer I couldnt refuse! So, shake my hand cuz I'm the proud owner of a 2005 FX35!

Silver, black leather interior (with the typical cracks on the drivers seat...gotta get it reupholsted), and it was pretty much a direct trade for my POS Grand Cherokee that's currently between shop visits ( a rarity). There's a couple of tasty 2006+ ones available about an hour away but I couldn't justify the price difference, especially since I wanted a truck I didn't want to baby ( like I do with my others). I want to really drive it!

I'm picking it up on Tues and really stoked. You need to see my other cars to know what I'm like. I'm already looking into intakes, exhaust, wheels, coilovers lol.

Cheers,
J
