got the Unorthodox Racing pulley!

update: ran it with the AC on yesterday and there was no difference felt even at idle. It feels "lighter" now and I want to smash the pedal more often now lol.
I have no belt squeal, but I will need to check and retention the belts the next oil change.

I dont know why I held off so long on putting this in.

Now I want one hahahha

I've only had my FX35 for a week, so forgive these obvious questions:
With an underdrive pulley, do you need a smaller belt? Which one?
Is the tensioner a manual adjust type or spring loaded?
Is this crank pulley a "harmonic balancer" or just pulley?
Do you need a puller to remove it?

Thanks,

Mike

With an underdrive pulley, do you need a smaller belt? yes Which one? both New Belt Sizes (Belt sizes used may vary slightly. We recommend Gates brand belts. Belt sizing can vary from belt manufacturer to belt manufacturer) • Alternator, Power Steering and Idler Belt: Use Gates K060445 (45 1/4” or 1150MM) • Air Conditioning Belt: Use Gates K040353 (35 7/8” or 910MM)
Is the tensioner a manual adjust type or spring loaded? Manual
Is this crank pulley a "harmonic balancer" or just pulley? just a pulley
Do you need a puller to remove it? no

So I read twice in here about pulley with supercharger. Underdrive pulley I imagine is not good unless you change pulley on supercharger as well.

What about stock size crank pulley with s/c?
Does anyone know if the stillen is as good as the unorthodox.
I read somewhere that stillen had same specs as Unorthodox.
last question, does g35 use same size pulley as us?

Yes, you can get the same pulley as the Z/G guys use. Usually they have them for sale more often and for cheaper.

A lightened stock size pulley is fine with a supercharger.

Update on my UR underdrive pulley....

So far I have taken the FX to Vegas, freeway driving and street.
I do not have any issues with the A/C (thank God) and I actually getting better MPG according to the onboard cpu.

I highly recommend getting the underdrive pulley.
I will update if anything else interesting happens...

Same here I've been using my a/c, and playing music on the loud side and there has been no adverse effect thus far. I recommend the underdrive pulley as well. Now I'm looking for and exhaust.

My increase dropped at first and then went back up weird to me but, I was hammering the ride at first as well. Overall I'm happy with the results. The T/C is a good match for the pulley's.

I put my Stillen lightweight underdrive on last week too. The only hard part was the crank bolt so tight, but I put a breaker bar on it and let the bar lay up against the frame and cranked the engine over a little. It came loose. I also removed both idler pulleys and put some antiseize on the adjustment threads.
Very nice upgrade for the money. No issues with A/C or any accessory at idle.

can anyone with a light weight stock diameter chime in?
Does the stock size make much of a difference? For just under $200 I imagine not but I think I'll join in on the aftermarket pulley anyways & some point.

Some day I would like to have a loud stereo, I wouldn't want to see my headlights dimming. Thats one reason why I would stay with the stock size pulley instead of the underdrive. The less weight would make some difference i'm sure but just not enough to feel when driving. I see it like an intake, sounds cool, looks cool, but the improvment is really not one that you feel. Little here little there and they add up slowly.
Just my thought.

Hyme, I think Dee runs a good sound system as well and it didn't affect it in any way as far as I know.. I don't think the VQ pulley affects the electrical system as much as an underdrive pulley for other engines..
