Got into another accident today :'-(

Yes I'm definately going after her for this until I get the money I deserve for this. I'm thinking something like this is going to be atleast over $1K because I need a new side molding and wheel arch. Those two pieces together are like $400.

Way more, my RX8 got a slight scratch from someone and it cost $6 or 700 just to refinish and paint alone.

Update:

Received my nice big fat check today and a list of what exactly needs to be done. The outer door skin on the rear door is not repairable I found out. There's a part on the edge of the door that is creased terribly and is beyond repair just now noticed it. So I will be getting a new door. Well not all new just the outer door skin will be new. The door is actually two pieces I found out. The inner door will be reused since its in mint condition.

The list:

Need I remind this is the estimate from both the insurance adjuster and body shop. I will have my car back at the end of next week.:smug:

like I said before I don't care as long as it gets fixed right.

If you pull out the factory service manual everything their doing is doing it by manufacturers specs. FSM states rust proofing is required. Other petty things like the vapor barrier, door molding, etc is not reusable by manufacturers specs. Remember I'm getting a new door skin too. I don't work in a bodyshop so I don't judge if what their doing is right or wrong. Also the paint clear is a special order from PPG and other things like that. As a customer its just my job to go pick up the car and be satisfied. Afterall I never picked a bodyshop that just slaps some crap bondo on the doors paints it and calls it a day.

They go as far as taking off every trim, molding, etc etc right down to a single bolt and screw to make sure the paint meets with all the edges instead of half assing things by taping stuff off.

At the end of the day I'm sure I'll be satisfied with the outcome from what everyone has told me.

Glad to hear you're getting your fx back soon, Aaron...I wonder if this will have an effect on 2nd gen fx insurance premiums going up in the near future...:ninja:
