Gas Mileage on FXs

getting around ~16-17 mixed driving.... maybe its the winter blend gas here in CA. I was getting much higher #s earlier this year (when gas prices was around $4.... maybe I was lighter on the pedal)

Update

I was getting around 17 but now 13.8 seems to be the norm?
I ran some injector/fuel system cleaner through a couple of tank fills and checked MPG over three weeks of driving around town,up and down the mountain, and on freeways now I'm back up to 18.6 MPG :tup:

18.7 mpg - 28 mpg

Just take it easy on the gas pedal.......I drive very carefully (slow) by TRYING to keep the rpm under 2k, even on accelerations. Yes, I like to conserve gas.

Go easy on the pedal, you'll have nice gains on mpg.

I try but I think my foot has a mind of it's own LOL:tup:

15-19 and I do have a heavy foot. But I try to use fuel system/injector cleaner often.. And I does works.

It took about three weeks using injector cleaner to see MPG improvement I plan on using it every third or fourth tank from now on. How often do you use it? The dealer said that the lower octane gas I was using when gas was around 5 bucks a gallon could cause the injectors to become dirty, does this sound right?

That's about right. I used fuel system/injector cleaner before. But for some odd reason I stop while a the same time I was making long trips very often home(from MD to NYC) around the same time gas was sky high. So to try to keep balance I used 89 and 93 fuel. Not the best idea. A month doing that and I defenely noticed the poor fuel milage and acceleration. So I filled up the tank and put a STP fuel system cleaner. After that I didn't see much difference so filled up the thank again and put in a fuel injector cleaner. A bit of difference. So I went to autozone and ask what was the best fuel system/injector cleaner they told me Luca's. So I put it to the test by using a fuel system cleaner from that brand and it worked my FX was accelarating better but still poor fuel milage, I used Luca's fuel injector cleaner and after a tank of gas I felt my FX become like it was before. Also while I was doing this I use 93 fuel to improve the outcome of these products. So I learned from my mistakes and since I only use 93 fuel and along with that I use the fuel cleanser from Lucas. So this is what I do since you can mix Luca's product I use the fuel cleaser and fuel injector cleaner the first week of the month and lucas's fuel cleanser and fuel system the third week of the month. To be on the safe side I always use the fuel cleaser everytime I filled up my tank even if is 93 octane. All I have to say it's that it works flawlessly.

K.. Seriously try the fuel cleanser and the fuel system/injector cleaner it does work bro. Specially if you use the fuel cleanser everytime you fill up.
