Gas Mileage on FXs

My carbon footprint is a size 18. All freeway (on trips) @ 65-70 I have seen 20-22+ but I live in the city and work in the city and Seattle has a LOT of hills. My norm is 11.5 (or less) IF I drive the freeway to see clients occasionally I will see 13.5-14.5 combined MPG....
 
I have been cruising on the way to work this whole week until the light came on,
so far I've hit 480 miles a tank.
anyone else here getting close to that? this is on shell 91 and driving like a grandma and everything is stock except for the K&N drop in filter.
 
I guess it took some time to adapt...

2nd tank of gas with the new air filter/oil and oil filter 17.4mpg
3rd tank of gas 17.2mpg

No changes in drving style. That is a vast improvement from the ~15mpg I was seeing before. My air filter looked really really bad and had a couple huge dragonflies blocking it up with gunk and build up in the front.

I am content at this point, even though gas is at 2.99/gal for premium at some stations here. Makes for 50-56.00 fill ups. Guess that Cooper S idea isn't a bad one still hahaha.
 
I'm averaging 20.2 MPG with a mix of 70/30 Highway to city. I use 89-93 octane depending on what I feel like throwing in. It's better than I thought it was going to be. I only have 5K in mileage on mine. :rofl:

wow i get 12.3 city or hwy lol 2004 fx35 with 79k with fujita intake but with bad 3 tires though. im gonna have to reduce some more weight around here lol. maybe delete rear seats, spare wheel, rear window wiper, rear cargo mat, one of the oem subwoofer speaker etc.... lol

According to the info screen I'm averaging 18.8 MPG all city (2007 FX35 AWD)...just bought the car a few days ago & only drive 15miles to work & 15 miles back home...haven't gone on road trip or anywhere longer than to/from work. Will update after a few weeks
 
when i bought my first fx its was an 2005 fx35 had 9000km on it, i picked it up and drove non stop for 27hr, bringing it back, i tracked the mileage all the way, that was the best i ever got, it worked out to 30mpg with the imperial gallon . had it for 210000km would always run in the 27-28mpg after that
 
my screen thing says 19mpg, i randomly grow a lead foot from time to time, but mostly city driving with a slight mix of long highways 40mins+ few times a week. Im at 105k miles now :D
