Whats up guys. I have been wanting to make the car a bit louder for some time now (that is the thing I miss most about my old Maserati).

I was looking at options but did not love the Borla sound nor do I really like the tuner style cans of Ark and some of the other systems that work on the g's.

I found an OEM IPL g37 muffler on the bay and purchased it. I saw a post on here about the sports muffler (which I belive is very similar to the IPL) on an Fx37 and it sounded nice. has any one ever put one of these on the FX50? I would love to hear a sound clip.

if not I will post one up sometime soon after I get it installed...
 
It isn't that much louder. It will add a bit of sound but not worth the price you paid (unless it was under $200) for the IPL muffler. It's almost identical just with less "stuffing" inside.

just got it installed and the sound difference is not that large inside the car. I will post a vid soon once I record it. I think I will try the resonator delete soon and see how that combination works...
 
the IPL is not the same as the sport muffler. The sport muffler is louder than the IPL's. levels of sounds are 1) g37s. 2) IPL. 3) Sport Muffler. I grabbed a brand new sport muffler off ebay last week. I might have it on by this Saturday if weather permits.

I actually installed it 2 nights ago and also made a first start video. I can't seem to post the video on here. Can anyone help?

I did G37s coupe muffler but was a waste, unless free. Paid $500.00 for sport muffler which is louder than ipl which is same as nismo muffler
 
sounds awesome! how much you pay for that muffler? you think it's better to do the muffler swap then get a cat back invidia or ARK exhaust?

I did a muffler swap. It didn't sound so bad. But I had quite a bit of drone which got annoying and eventually went back to stock exhaust. I really want to have the stock exhaust sound like the 1st gen FX

Muffler is going for about $750 at the dealer. I found a brand new open box one on ebay for $350. I never heard the ARK in person so I can't really say. This sport muffler gives it the nice throaty infiniti sound.

Would you say the sound is similar to 1st gen stock exhaust? Do you notice any drone?
