FX50 Aftermarket Fitment of 22x10.5 - offset concerns

I know and I am pricing out both, but it comes down to a money thing at this point. Good news is that my new shoes should arrive on the 17th, can't wait to see if my calculations pan out or if I will need the small spacers. Hopefully I won't have to shave the inside of the fenders either. I will know soon enough!

These are the wheels, but will be more concave than in the pic...matte black finish with machined spokes.

Oops. Just checked the specs again on the the Niche Sport Milan and it is 22x10.5 +40 with the correct bolt pattern. Will that clear the OEM brakes and not rub inside front?

Tire selection at the 285/40r22 size is slightly more difficult than 285/35r22. Not sure about those wheels fitting on Gen 1. But folks are running the Gen 2 21x9.5 with+50 offset on the Gen 1s.

The wheels have started to arrive...I think these should work nicely:

Hindsight is always 20/20, but I probably could have got away with the 295/35r22 square setup. Not only is it a smidge wider than the 285/35r22, but also much closer to stock height tires (within .5% difference on the speedo). Tire selection is limited to Yokohama, Toyo, Cooper, and Nankang so far as I can see...and not too much more expensive than the 285/35r22. Well, when these tires wear out, guess I know what setup I'll go with next.

Gotta get the rest of the wheel set in from the snow-stalled fedex delivery and test fit 'em for the spacers...then time to drop. I decided to go with the H&R setup, forgoing the coil-overs. I want to keep the stock adjustable sport mode and keep the ride a bit more moderate for now. I'll get some pics up of the wheel swap once it gets warm enough to get all of the &%$#ing salt off my ride.

I had planned on going with a set of wheels similar to the Vossen CV4s, but after riding for a few weeks with my AP Racing BBK, I noticed a substantial increase in brake dust accumulating on my wheels. I hate cleaning that stuff. I ended up going with the CV7s because I didn't feel like cleaning the tiny CV4 crevices.

And neither would I had I not purchased the BBK first. I try to make it a point to wipe them down every couple of days to avoid hard build up.

One of my cars has a split 10 style of wheels and it's annoying to keep clean. Spray wax will help some, a lot of the brake dust will just rinse off. I had to get a small wheel cleaning brush to get between the spokes.

Nope, these did NOT clear the BBK. Off to get some spacers.

Yeah, you're not kidding. Kinda pissed actually. Even with a 5mm spacer it's gonna be VERY close to the caliper. I'm a tad nervous that they may not work even with the spacer. It's really the wheel design since the spokes are so damn deep and straight. If it were just a bit more of a curve I think I would have been fine. The poke is now going to be +25mm over the stock setup. This will be very close to flush on the front and just a hair under flush in the back if my math is right. Might have to go 10mm for the rear down the road. Want to see how these 5mm spacers at all 4 corners fit up first.

In trying to dry fit the wheel I slightly scratched the caliper...at least I now have an excuse to pull em off and repaint them. I'm thinking a deep yellow high heat paint to go with my slate blue should set 'em off nicely.

The saga continues...

The 5mm spacers came in...

The issue? The flipping wheel still hits the BBK. What's worse, the wheels poke too much with the 5mm spacer:

Now I am bent. Going to a 10mm is going to be hella-poke. Add in the h&r drop and I am going to have issues hitting the bottom of the fenders. Go 10mm? Doubled up 2 5mm spacers (10mm) and it clears fine.

For those keeping score at home, +40mm offset wheels in 22x10.5 with BBK is no beuno. +30mm offset is the way to go. But you will have poke beyond flush.

Oh man, Bummer.
I dont think the poke is that bad at all. Go for 10 ;)

F it, going 10mm spacer front, 15mm rear. PEEJ's setup looks sick, and he has no rubbing issues with his drop and he's set even wider. Go big or go home. Going to remove the brakes for a repaint while I wait for the new spacers and springs to arrive. 4 5mm spacers going up for sale shortly.

Cheste1, I hope you finally get your set up right.

Silly question, but was that picture showing poke taken at drive height? I see the jack under there and can't tell from the angle. Side pic shows it jacked up. If it's not at drive height, the look won't be accurate since the wheels will camber in some on the ground. My tires poke out 1.5" + front and back when the FX is jacked up, but are flush at drive height because of camber.
