FX35 5AT Grounding Gear 10 Wire Kit

I just place an order for the FX35 kit. Since I'm going to have GTM upgrade my VB & TC, I'm going to see if they are willing to install this grounding kit for free. If not, then I'll have to attempt it myself. Depending on how the instructions are, I might need your help on this Dave. By the way, thanks for the info on this.

No problem. It's fairly easy, just time consuming. You'll want to lay them all out before the install. That will make it easier as to which ones go over the other.

I received the kit today. The install instructions seems straight forward. I was thinking to impose on GTM to have them install this for free when they are working on the transmission. Then I thought about it. The transmission upgrade might mask or interfere with any differences I might feel just with the grounding kit by itself. Because of this, I'll do the install this weekend.

The quality of the wires look great. All the wires are number stamped at the terminal to correspond to the installation instructions.

Dave: I'll PM you with some questions.

That would be the cam housing.
Just install this exactly how I have it. I have all the points correctly installed.

Battery to ECU is straightforward. I dont think you will have a TCU in your car that would normally reside next to the ECU. '05 & later, at least on RWD, the TCU was built into the tranny, and there is no unit located under the kick panel as outlined in the written installation procedures. If that's the case, just use the unused short TCU ground wire from the kit, as an additional ground for the ECU to the chassis, or other metal point in the kick panel area.

Tranny is also simple, just easier to get at with a lift.

I finished installing the GG grounding kit today. It took me a little over 2 hours. Everthing inside the engine compartment was pretty easy. Running the wire to the ECU was easier than I thought. I actually did find the TCU connection right behind the kick panel. At least what I saw matched exactly what was pictured in the instructions.

Transmission wire is the only 1 that I am no 100% of. The instructions didn't say to remove the plastic skid plate under the car, but I had to. I wasn't able to find the "strip clamp holding a wire loom that is held on by a bolt." What I did find was a metal bracket held with 2 bolts to the transmission housing, with one bolt holding a strip clam with 2 black colored hard lines. I attached the wire to one of the 2 bolts holding the bracket to the transmission housing. Stupid me, but I should have taken a picture. Can anyone confirm if I attached this wire to the right place?
