Front Bumper Skid Plate.

Pork, don't wait too long now.
I have to say that the skid plate adds quite a bit to the front the the FX.

ha ha Andy, true that ... it ads a lot especially if one likes shiny things :-) plus I think it improves the aerodynamics too, wouldn't you say?:)

I was also recently looking at skid plates for my mom's Mercedes ML and I think the front one could be fitted onto our FXs too. Thoughts?

Hmmm, it looks pretty close. If they're metal, it might be a tricky to re-shape them to fit right on the FX. When you get your hand on them for your mom's ML, good opportunity to just place it under your FX. :good:

Trust me I will def attempt, she might end up with mine instead lol.

Are there other options for skid plates that look similar, besides modifying a jeep skid plate? In other words is there an aftermarket manufacturer of an fx35 skid plate for the 03-08? I couldn't find anything in my search of is on this.

No there is not a skid plate made specifically for FX by Infiniti or aftermarket.
If you want a different look than the Jeep one, you'd simply have to look around at skid plates for other cars and see if you can retrofit it to your FX.
:)

I'm late to this party but have ordered the part from the link provided. Cant believe they used to be over $300!! Anyway, on sale now (and probably has been for a while) for like $45.

Since you have an 07, so there is a chrome piece at the lower part of the bumper already. I wonder how it going to look with this mod though.

Yeah, I forgot I even had it cause I plastidipped it black just over a year ago lol. I'll figure it out I'm sure. I've hacked up my NSX enough to jump into whatever modifications I need to make

^ that looks great, my chrome piece cracked in half right down the middle so this mod would fix that pretty well. Plastic dip the chrome bumper piece, and add this over it. That chrome piece is double the price of this mod too.
Also is this only from 2004 Jeep like the link says?

Yes Myron02 they are for the 04 Grand Cherokee. Wish they offered them in brushed silver instead of just chrome. Anyway here's how it came out. My chrome strip was already dipped black. 4ane5uru.jpg upusyhuz.jpg
No one is stealing this thing with a screwdriver that's for sure. Three 12mm bolts with lock nuts.

I think I will be doing this mod before winter. This would work out perfect at covering up the damage I have on the front bumper, and it looks good as well. I also like the chrome on the bottom matching the chrome emblem, my grill is dipped like that as well. When I get back from europe I will be ordering this

edit:

so I can't order from parts geek (original link) due to me being in Canada. What do you think of this: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,c...L+EDITION+Body-Exterior+Bumper+Cover+Retainer

is this the same thing? The bottom one there, in that picture, it look like the one you guys are using
