ah... it makes now. i used to ugly oem yellow bulbs. I replaced them with t10 led. It is bright enough for me to notice its on while driving. I got used to my s4. The footwell lights are on only when doors are open not during driving. Thanks for your help. :)

You can use the dash brightness to control their brightness . I'm glad they are always on because it adds a bit of ambient lighting and look good if you put in a LED rather than the stock bulb.

Thanks for the help. The brightness that also controls dashboard screen. I want it to be as bright as possible.

Do you have a picture of the footwell lights while the door is shut? I'm considering swapping out the OEM bulbs for LED, but in worried it may be too bright.

How dark is it where you live/drive? I saw this thread and thought to myself mine doesn't have footwell mood lighting. Today, I put my hand under the dash while stopped and poof! the light was on; but I still couldn't see any light at my feet.

@Pinstripe the sun was down when I took the pic, but it's visible if you have an LED bulb all the time.

I definitely recommend changing all interior bulbs to LED. Well except the vanity lights, them as LED are way too bright.

^^^ +1 Did all my interior LEDs as well as my blue footwell lights to match my Passport radar detector. Stay away from the vanity LEDs. I almost blinded myself when testing them out. I can give you mine if youre looking to lose your eyesight.

Dumb question here, how do I get a little lenses off to replace the bulbs for the foot well? And what are the bulb numbers?

They just pop right off, I used my fingernail but you can use a flat head screw driver if you like..Very simple

I can't even tell they are on when I'm driving, on,y notice it when I turn the car off and open the door.

I can see mine enough when I look, but not enough to catch my eyes while driving, which is what I prefer. Just enough light that if I needed to find something that fell down there, I could, but not enough to be distracting. Probably because I have my instrument back light almost max.

I'm 100% sure it would absolutely annoy me if I replaced them with leds, since we can't turn them off.
