Enable EVERYTHING while driving

I didn't realize http://www.carkitcompany.com/infiniti-fx35/remote-bypass-kit-2010-12 is your site. This is great! Thank you for bringing this as an option for the group!

Are you considering producing any additional mods for our FXs?

Yes and I'm always looking for other ideas or mods that people would be interested in. There just needs to be enough interest to cover the minimum order quantities of the connectors. The other thing is having access to a car to play with, which I now have :) so hoping to be offering cool stuff for FXs.

Thanks.

The 2009 model used a different connector and is similar to the 2009/10 Nissan Murano
http://www.carkitcompany.com/nissan-murano/nissan-murano-remote-bypass-kit-2009-10

On the Murano kit the rear camera override doesn't work and I assume the 2009 FXs would be the same, but I would need to confirm.

Please do confirm, thanks.

Can you develop an automatic mirror folding mod?

I'm sure there would be high interest in this one.

I did also briefly look at this for the GT-R but wasn't sure how much demand there would be. It appears there are two existing approaches.

1) A simple timer which could be made relatively easily but I would I like to make all my kits plug and play so I would have to see what connectors are used and how easy they are to source. Quite often the connectors are either difficult to source or the minimum order quantities are scary along with very long lead times.

2) Using the lock and unlock signals and I'm assuming that example s using the canbus. Of course the same would apply regarding the connectors.

I think option 2 is a better solution and I would like to add some way of programming such that a double tap on the remote folds the mirrors and a single doesn't (just thinking out loud). The problem is something like this would be similar to my GT-R memory box where research, development and testing is fairly significant and would requires a reasonable amount of interest to be worth pursuing (and I'm in this for the challenge as much as anything so really only talking about what is required to break even).

I see some mention of a unit that is available in Japan but they wouldn't ship to the US? It might be easier to get some group by organized and I can certainly arrange a local purchase in Japan and then shipping to US, that might be easier and cheaper than me starting from scratch.

got a 09 so unfortunately yours was not an option

No problem.

My 2009/10 Murano kit would have worked on your 09 but not listing yet as currently it would only be the Nav and DVD bypasses. I'm still trying to make the reversing camera bypass work on the 09s.

Sorry about that. I see you are in NYC so we are pretty close, perhaps I could have offered to try a kit in your car.

Anyone else in driving range of central NJ (Princeton Area) let me know if you are interested in a solution for 2009 FXs. I know the Murano kit will do the DVD and NAV bypass on 2009 FX without issues, but would really like to check the rear camera bypass and make that work if testing shows it doesn't.

Does this include non-Nav 2009 FX model?

Interestingly I did a one off kit for a 2012 Murano non-Nav and it was based on the 2010+ kit it just required different orientation of the wires (different pin locations). I have just taken a quick look at the 2009 non-Nav FX wiring diagram and it appears identical. I will double check later but I'm fairly confident that the kit I did for the 2012 Murano without Nav would work on the 2009 FX without Nav. The good news is all 3 functions were reported as working.

Great!!, is that is confirmed, probably I will be your next customer. :smug:

Confirmed.

There are three variations in total for 2009+ FXs

All Non Nav FXs 2009+ are the same as the 2011/12 Non Nav Murano kit that I have supplied recently and will be listing on the website shortly.
All Nav FXs 2010+ are the same and I already have that kit listed on my website
The oddball is the 2009 Nav
The 2009 Nav FXs are the same as the 2009/10 Nav Murano kit and I suspect like the Murano the reversing camera bypass wont work (although to be confirmed)

Oh Brian..... its your long lost pal from Nagtroc: 2002_Viper_GTS_ACR

I just bought my wife a new 2011 FX50, so what do I need to get for her car to have all the bypass goodies, and is it the same system as in our GTRs (well most likely the 2012s GTR system is my guess).

Let me know, I'd like to get one of these installed in her car too, and look you can have a local installer in Chicago for these too :)

Are you following me :) Of course you would have to get the FX50 when I only got the wife the FX35 (I just won't tell her)

You are right, it is basically the same as the GT-R kit, it just doesn't have (or need) the front camera A/B switch so the FX kit is a little cheaper.

Page me on the GT-R forum or give me a call.

I already pm'd you on nagtroc, the minute I saw this, I ran to my phone and started to call you, because I was so excited.. and then I was like, ok Jon, calm down.. Brian probably isnt as excited about this as you are, just send him a pm on nagtroc. lol.

So yeah, I am definitely down for a kit.

FYI everyone Brian Rocks, the guy is super smart, does this on the side (he's a technology guy), and ALWAYS takes good care of his customers. I did his kit on my 2010 Nissan GTR, and it worked like a charm. I know I'm new here (becuase I just got my wife's fx50), but you'll learn to love me :) and trust my reviews.. BDL99 ROCKS!

Jon

Ordered mine for the 2011 FX50.. thanks!

Evne though I already placed my order... :) I just thought of something:

how does this impact the technology package given that the car has that feature where it manages traffic for you? Does the speed sensor getting 'electronically cut' temporarily impact the cars technology packages ability to manage dynamic cruise control, and the automatic braking and safety features that only come with the technology package?

Please confirm,

Jon

I see no reason why it would effect the dynamic cruise control and automatic braking features because the bypass kit is only fooling the AV unit not any other systems being fed speed information. I don't have the technology package so cannot be 100% sure (I'm currently just 99.99999%) but Nissan would be crazy to have the AV unit controlling any of the safety features.

Ah, good point, I thought you were cutting the main feed to the system, but your only cutting the interface from the stereo to it, but not the system itself.

That makes complete sense :)

Thanks!

Jon
