Sounds like a great alternative if you don't want to soder anything and want that video playback as well while driving from my understanding. Great find! So, you ordering one? Where you plan on putting the switch?

"Theirs is nice because it goes back to NAVI mode after 5 minutes (AKA back to regular NAVI mode blocking input while moving)"

I wonder than if you were watching a movie through the ipod aux input if after 5 minutes it would stop the video pretty much defeating the purpose of watching a movie?

I also wonder if it automatically removes the "OK" screen like the kptechnologies does?

I bought it too a few weeks ago...have yet the time though to install it.

Let me know what they say and how it goes...I'll keep you posted. Maybe it's a 2010/2011 issue...

Nope if you actually read the manual which I obviously did not...lol... There’s an automatic mode (switches back after 5mins) and manual mode (switches back until you press the button or turn the car off) this can be set by holding the button down turn the car on without pressing the break continue holding for 7 secs or till you hear a click.

So it is working fine now? any other problems or complaints?

Hey All,

Since I'm movin back to Cali in a week, and I'll be alone for something like 3 months with my FX, it will give me time to make this mod. I'm interested in knowing the benefits and pitfalls of option mod #2. Can someone please PM me the plus and minus?

Thanks!

NEED HELP!!!
Urgent!!

Disassembled central console, disconnected cables from AV unit, connected them back (didn't cut any wires), assembled back everything and got a bunch of errors:
Engine check lite
Brake
ASC
blahblahblah

Initially, couldn't even put the car in DRIVE, using the "lock pin" unlocked gearbox, and was able to put it in gear,
but later the ALL the dash lights went off.

PLEASE HELP

while everything was disconnected did u turn on the electronics by any chance cause i kno for a fact (happened to me) the check engine light goes on as well as the other errors.

hmmm strange then either a connection is loose or place in wrong spot thats as far as i kno

check connections twice for looseness
as I know it can't be in wrong spot - connectors are different everywhere

one more detail to my BIG PROBLEM- to turn of the engine I have to press and hold (3-5 sec) the START button

Current condition:
-dash is black, no lights at all
-can switch to "D" only if press "Unlock" button on transmission
-the car drives, took it for a spin around the block
-no button, switch or control is illuminated if switch to "night light" (fuse issue??)

Will post updates tonight, when I'm back to my BIG PROBLEM :)

In case I'm not able to fix this issue, can you recommend a good Infiniti mechanic in Toronto/GTA area. (official dealership will ask for an arm an a leg)

I would put everything back to normal and disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see what happens..

checked fuses; re-connected Audio-Video unit - no luck

checked OBD errors; have 4:
P0301
B0304
C22c1
C2400

On dashboard following lights are on:
- VDC OFF
- ABS
- BRAKE
- Service Engine Soon
- Slippery road

On audio screen have the inscription "Audio OFF"

If you didn't cut and splice anything, everything should be working fine unless you plugged a connector wrong. On the 2010 there are 2 connectors that do look a like and will fit in each others spot.

From the picture try the Far Bottom Right plug. Wire 92 (RED) Is the Speed sensor, Wire 93 (VIOLET) is E-brake that you have to ground. Should be the bottom left two wires on that plug
