Ebay "Tesla" Style Center Dash Screen Console

Thanks so much I'm still working on it if you would like to help me finish I will pay you for your time. The company I bought this from will not contact me back nor do they have a manual
I have attached a pdf that should show you how to get the AC working. The two green wires (one with a black stripe) have to be spliced to the red and blue CAN BUS wires.

As for the amplifier, go to settings, the mobile phone looking icon, then click sound, then go to AMP ON/OFF and turn it to on.

This is my stock monitor cable.
And this is the box under the glove box it still attaches to my wire harness. The old monitor cable does not click into the tesla screen or harness
Sorry I had to run yesterday and didn’t check back in until now. Did your car have a navigation screen or did it have the orange lcd information screen?
I was going off your info under your username that said you had an 04. Since yours is an 06 it’s probably a bit different for wiring but the basic principles are similar and that pdf is only so helpful since it’s only for up to 05 (even though it says 2006) Those green wires need the CAN BUS signal to communicate with the hvac. What we have to figure out is what plug yours has the can bus wires on which is why I want to know if yours had factory navigation.
I’m guessing it has navigation and you have found the box under the dash and above the glove box. Plugging that connector in as you have in your photo should be all you needed to do for it to work

I had a 7" Android unit in my 2003 FX45. I move the OEM radio down to the ashtray area. Looks like the Tesla style unit is the way to go now. Just curious the sound quality of the Tesla style unit. I have to have an amp and sub for the Android unit to have a decent sound.

Okay so I installed that ridiculous tesla screen in my fx35 3 days ago and I dislike it. The sound quality is quite trash it gives you boomy bass but crackly static vocals and I've messed with ever single equalizer setting. I only tested bluetooth. I didnt test aux the red and white audio aux sound. But I assume that's trash to. The bluetooth for my model skips and chirps if it goes 3 feet away in the back seat the phone has to stay right up close. The ac controls are slow you gotta press the button and wait for it to change on screen. There is alot more. Anyway I'm ripping this unit out sending it back and going with a android 7 inch unit like you. Or keeping mine stock so I can save money for vacation

I ended up purchasing this unit from Aliexpress from a seller by the name of KiriNavi. I went with the 8 core, 4gb RAM, 64gb storage and CarPlay and I am pretty happy with it. It’s not quite perfect as the CarPlay doesn’t always connect right away and it doesn’t seem to be able to read the tpms like the original screen did but the AC controls are great, steering wheel controls integrate well, the touch screen is very responsive. I added a backup camera as my 2005 didn’t have one, (orange screen model), and I was very surprised to find that this unit reads steering angle from the CAN bus lines to give an indication of where you might end up while reversing. Sure that’s not necessary, but it’s neat to see this feature. The Bluetooth works pretty well. Normal android functions work as you would expect. If anyone has any questions about this feel free to ask. I’m very impressed with it and would recommend it. It’s like having a new car.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. I want you to know that a 7" Android will need amp and sub to sound good. I install the same 7" into my brother-in-law's FX35 and it sounds not much better then the oem system.

I'm picking up my 2005 FX35 tomorrow, and I'm heavily interested in doing this to it. I do have the bose cassette section of the stereo. Are there any known tesla-style units that are compatible with that design, or would I be forced to move the screen down where the clock is and install a 7" android?

Hi, I have a 2003 fx35 rwd with the orange screen. I have no nav, no tech package. I want to buy from AliExpress too but I wonder if it will get stuck in customs for tax purposes. How long It took to arrive and Did you have to contact customs to release the package? I’ve been living with the famous tape adapter and and fm transmitter for the last 10 years and this product seems like getting a new car. I was about to buy the Grom emulator adapter but this looks way better.
PD: which rear camera did you get? Did you buy it separately with a matching connector?

thanks

I didn't have any problems. It took a little over a month to receive it though. I ordered it just before the pandemic went into full swing and I know that delayed it some but it wasn't awful. Actually when my postal carrier delivered it, I was outside working on something and he pulled up to my driveway, sets it on the hood of one of my cars and says, "I'm only a few weeks away from retirement, and I'm too old to be delivering your corona packages from China. If you don't mind I'll just sign for you." and he backed away laughing. Unfortunately that was the last time I saw him. He is fine, he just retired early because he didn't want to risk catching it. His very elderly mother lives with him. Such a great guy.

Oh I see now. Since both of us have the orange screen. As far as installation, what was the hardest part since it is not plug and play?

The only thing that isn't plug and play for yours would be the CAN bus wires that you have to tap. They go to the orange screen and the plug on the new unit doesn't fit those wires. Look at the pdf for install located at #16 post in this thread. It explains that step pretty well. Ebay "Tesla" Style Center Dash Screen Console

Thanks for the info. I always wanted my orange screen to be more functional and this is going to give me that. I hope the sound is decent but if I have to add a subwoofer or something else I’ll do it. As far as the TPMS, I think I read in the description that I have to pay a bit extra to have that feature, which means I would have to buy sensors as well.

Thanks for all the info. I just purchased my unit with CarPlay and android auto. I can’t wait to install it. I was wondering if you bought your rear view camera from AliExpress as well. I found one that attaches to the license plate light and it is supposed to fit the FX. What camera did you install with the KiriNavi unit? Was it easy to install? How did you route the wiring to the hatch? KiriNavi send me a link with TPMS sensors with a usb module that connects to the unit I purchased. Do you think the TPMS feature can be added to our KiriNavi unit? And thanks again for your help.

Hi, My kirinavi unit arrived yesterday and they send me a different PDF instructions for the CAN-Bus wires. Would you take a look and tell me what you think? Looks like they did an upgrade to avoid tapping the blue and red cables going to the orange screen. Attached below.

Hi, would take a look at this pdf and tell me why is it different?. My KiriNavi unit arrived yesterday and the pdf is slightly different. What do you think?

Hey Luis, when you finally get it installed, would you please post a bunch of pictures of the different areas of the UI? I’m heavily considering getting the OSTR brand instead of the Kirinavi because the OSTR one seems to have a better looking UI, but I would like to double check.
