I think it is okay for a temporary job, but not permanent.
IMHO it's great for tool handles etc but that's about it
 
Aaron, like you said, it looks different in person. I haven't really seen plastidip more than just emblems in person. From the picture, it looks great on your car, but who knows in person....would have to see it.

You can ship your car to me and I'll do a thorough investigation and let you know what I think! :top::ninja:
 
I had done it to mine cuz my grill actually cracked....TT
I had no choice but i like it ... for the price of it? can't beat it!!!
 
Plastidip looks much better in pictures than up close IMHO it does not belong on any luxury vehicle
 

Plastidip is ghetto fabulous

On your car is doesn't flow at all, you have no other matte black (I don't think) and I think it clashes with the styling of your car.
It just looks like you spray painted it...which you did.
 
I'm taking it off today. I tried to like it but I can't. It looks so cheap :mask:

Not my style really. Atleast I know how plasti dip looks on my ride now lol. Thank god it just peels off.
 
I want the DIY guide on how to keep the plasti dip texture from showing.
 
Ended up taking this shit off today. Did not look good at all. :shot:


I advise anyone not to use plasti dip. I took it off today and spent 4 hours removing it. I even put it on thick (5 coats as recommended) and it still has a hard coming off. On rims it would probably come off easier but on the curves of the grille it's a pain in the ass to remove like Lerry mentioned.


I called a body shop today and I'm dropping it off next Tuesday to be painted black obsidian. Only will cost $100 for painting it. It also needs to be repaired for rock chip damage. So I figured what the hell why not just get it painted.

Aaron, the grill on my 07 g35 sedan did that and they replaced it under warranty.
I can only find one rock chip on my FX.

I would ask the dealer but they would tell me it's wear and tear.


Man the grille color matched in black obsidian on a black FX looks so sick:
