Disadvantages of Lowering

How is ground clearance a disadvantage? Are people really gonna go rock crawling in the FX? It's not you are making it as low as those cars that will scrape their bumpers. Hell, I barely even scrape my front skirt on curbs when parking. Happened maybe 3-4 times. G sedan however, every time I park.

stu, im not lowered but ive managed to scrape a couple of times in poorly designed parking garages and also a lot of my friend's driveways (steep driveways are very popular here... maybe to save space). Just a fyi, but i agree that generally we wont have to worry about ground clearence

That's weird, I guess it's just the design. I made it up my friends driveway, which is pretty steep. But if you are scraping in the FX in places you go alot you should have a truck.

or you should do that angle thing that people with hella lowerd cars ddo
i see alot of ricers here do it with there slammed ass hondas
just like a 2 inch drive way they hafta do that angle drive up

^^^ so you are saying that you like the naked lady mud flaps I have on my FX and the fake set of testicals I have hanging from my hitch. (you are from edmonton I know you have seen them)

So most people do NOT need rear camber kits installed after a drop with stock shocks/struts... is this correct?

I may be interested in H&R springs, based on what I am reading the springs are all I need and the ride will be better than stock?

Link to where u bought the H&R's for the 09! I might as well do it :P Cant leave u to be the only 09 lowered xD

The thing is where am i gonna install it in this god forsaken college town of mine :'(

Hey Cheech, have you lowered it yet? I also thought about lowering it, but i think i'm gonna wait a bit and see how you feel about it after one winter in MTL lol =P, post up some pics if you've lowered it!

Lowering with either Eibach or H&R is a great mod and IMO I am pretty sure there is a very slim % of us that has ever looked back and thought "hmmm....that wasn't such a good idea" you won't look back....Corporate determined that a sport ute (like that's the category the FX falls into) needed to have a specific lift, the last time I took my ride off road was 20 feet of gravel to my vacation cabin and it was fine :)

Handles better, looks better, no reliability compromise, get after it.

apparently i'm the lowest eibach FX...and there are a few disadvantages..... but its nothing compared to the advantages. for example, I cannot jump certain curbs due to my ground clearance...i can't even pull in forward all the way in some lots because my under-bumper plastic will scratch and hit the curb. plus, one of my mudflaps got cracked form me trying to jump a curb to park.....but i dont thinky oull have any of these issues. In the snow it doesnt make too much of a difference, still handles like a beast.
:) go get her lowered!

Probably shouldn't be jumping curbs in an FX. I did that in my Tahoe, and it still got hairy once in a while.
